Split stay / magic band question?

We arrive at pop on Saturday for 1night.
Then we have a 6 night package with free dining starting Sunday at pop also..
Hopefully we won't have to move rooms on Sunday.
(what's the best way to ensure that, I plan on asking about it when checking in even though I've done online checking already)

My concern is we have one set of Magic bands for the Saturday visit. We will know they work if they let us into our room.
We plan to rope drop MK Sunday morning. I don't want to get to MK Sunday morning only to find out there is a problem with the 2nd set of Magic bands and we lose valuable time straightening things out at the park entrance.

I wonder if the fact that the new, package bands work to open the room doors on Sunday morning indicates they will let us in the park?
Or is the gift shop open so early I could try buying something using the band before we get on the bus and would that verify it would let me in the park.

Just trying to anticipate anything that could go wrong..

Your MB are interchangeable. Your room only and package bands will let you into the park as long as you have valid tickets linked to your account.

Seems like tickets are only linked to the 2nd set of bands as I cannot set up FP for the 1st set of bands. I figured the 1st set would only be for the room as we will just be staying around the resort on Saturday.

The tickets are linked to your 2nd stay, not to specific MBs. The MBs for both reservations are interchangeable as long as they are in the same MDE account.

The MBs are interchangeable as others have stated.

You can't book FPs for your first Stay because you bought a package for Stay #2 and the tickets are tied up in the package. You can early activate the tickets when you arrive at Stay #1 and book your FPs at that time.

Just ran into this ourselves, solid advice above.

We have split stay, did FP+ for first three days starting December 12. Cannot do FP+ for second leg until Monday 19th because we have "off" days at US in between WDW legs.

Since check out in resorts is 11am of course the MB will be opening the door. Stop at guest services at Pop and ask them to check it out.

Tickets are linked to ALL bands that are registered to you in your MDX account.

You can't set up FP because you don't currently have any tickets that correspond to the non-package reservation.
