Split stay luggage transfer questions

We are staying at the ASMovies for 1 night and then AKL for 7 nights. Does any one know the process for having your luggage moved between the hotels? Also should we be concerned that our luggage does not lock? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Give All-Star Luggage Assistance a call the night before the transfer. The next morning, make sure to place all your luggage inside the room and ready to go by the scheduled time. You do NOT need to be in the room for them to pick it up, so feel free to head on out. Your luggage will be stored, and then transferred to AKL between 1-3pm. When you have checked into AKL and are in your room, give Bell Services a call, and they will bring it up.

Since the airlines (or NTSA?) don't want checked luggage to be locked, I always use zip ties. While they won't deter anyone who really wants to get the bags open, it will make a casual looker think twice. I was able to find some in bright colors and they help set our basic black bags stand out from all the rest. They even have a little gizmo on them that lets them be removed without cutting so they can easily be used again.

Ours all have the type of zipper that can open/close in either direction so I just threaded them through the zipper pulls on the bags. It's worked well - and also keeps DD out of the bags to look for the little gifts I bring as a surprise.

Personally, I suggest taking your luggage with you via taxi. It takes too long for bell services to transfer your luggage. Its not due to arrive til 3 o'clock.

We split our stay, GF to AKL. When I called about luggage transfer they told me we were better off doing it ourself. Now if I hadn't had a rental car I think I would have had them do it. If you have a car pack up and move it yourself, if it not then call the front desk the day befor to set up arangements for the transfer. Tina

We had our luggage transferred from YC to WL with no problems, whatsoever.

We call bell services in the am. They picked up our bags and gave us a claim ticket. They told us they wouldn't arrive at WL until 3:00. We went about our day as usual. We went over to WL about 12:00 and checked in. Our room wasn't ready (no big deal) so again, we went about our day. When we came back at 4:00, our room was ready. We called bell services and they brought our bags right up.

No trouble at all. Have fun and don't worry about it.

I've done this before, and its never been a problem.

Check your lugauge with the bellman when you check out of the first hotel, ask them to transfer it to the bellman at your second hotel.


...Just like Disney magic, it shows up in your room that afternoon!


I never lock my bags, its not been a problem.

We've also had our luggage transferred twice and it has never been a problem. I would actually hate having to haul all the luggage to the rental car and then to the hotel. 9 times out of 10 your room will not be ready, so it will have to be stored and brought up to you anyways.

We always went on with our normal day. We've actually been lucky enough to have our rooms ready. Even at 8am at BWV (that was really surprising).

We had ours transferred from BC to AKL.

We just called at 4:00pm and our luggage was delivered up to the room.

We were told they will not bring the bags to the room unless someone was in the room. Fine with us.
