Split Stay from Swan/Dolphin...

do you have to transfer your own luggage if going from swan/dolphin to a wdw resort (akl) or would it be done the same if you switched from pofq to akl? please advise 'cause it will help in my "where to stay" dilemma! LOL!

I have done this and you do NOT have to transfer your own luggage. The S/D people will send it to the next resort for you. I thought it went well.

I have the opposite situation. I'm going from AKL to Dolphin and was wondering about luggage transfer. I thought I read some time ago that Disney wont' send luggage to S/D but S/D will send to Disney. Anyone know if this is true?

Last time we spent a night at the YC and then moved over to the Dophin they wouldn't transfer it because it wasn't a resort owned by Disney. I would call the both CRO and AKL itself to see what they tell you.

In the past Disney has transferred luggage to S/D. Perhaps there has been a policy change, but definitely call and find out. You may want to call the resort directly and talk to bell services, as they are the ones handling the situation.

I just read on another thread that Disney discontinued luggage tranfer from/to the Swan and Dolphin this past February. Maybe someone could confirm this.
