We are doing a split stay-All Star Sports 1night, then POFQ 6 nights. Am I supposed to get the first set of MBs deactivated before I go to POFQ? Or will POFQ take care of whatever is supposed to happen?

We used our first set of bands for an entire split stay trip.

No need to deactivate the bands if you don't want to.

If you have charging privileges on them it will all transfer over and you'll just need to get them keyed for your room at POFQ when you get there. If you want to use the second set of bands for that portion of your trip, you can still leave the first set active as well. All the bands are is a link to your MDE account, so if both sets of bands are active, either set will work for park admission and your FP+ reservations. The only thing you need to do is have the band keyed to your room door at the resort that you are staying at. They will ask you at the resort if you want to have you credit card active on the band and do that as well.

I did not have to get my 1st set of bands keyed for the 2nd part of my stay and I used both sets of bands interchangeably from the 1st day of the trip. The check-in people never even looked at my bands, but both worked properly for all 13 days. I had set up everything on MDE before going to Disney, including the pin for charging.

We are actually staying at 4 different resorts this up coming trip. Which means we have 4 different sets of bands. So from your experiance I should be able to use any of my 4 to do everything (Charge, Tickets, and Room)?

That's curious. So what's to stop you from giving that band to a third person to get into the park if you have park hoppers? The finerprint associated with that ticket?

The fingerprint and the fact each Magic Band has the same ticket. You can't enter a second park within 60 minutes of entering the first park.

Probably a dumb question... So what do they do at they check in desk if you set everything up from home? Only thing I can think of that is missing is the room #?

Yes, you should be able to use all 4 interchangeably. We had a split stay in December and they did not do anything to our bands at any time. Both sets worked from day 1 for everything.

If you do online check-in and have everything set, they will just give you your welcome packet and room number.

I was told (on these boards) that when doing a split stay to make sure to go to the front desk to check out of the first resort. There was some issue, sot sure what anymore. It's been a while since I asked. It could have been resolved since then. Just passing along what I heard.

If someone has different info, please feel free to tell me I am not updated :)

We did not do this in December and had no problems. However, we didn't check-in at our second resort until around 4. I think some people said if you don't check out in person and try to check-in before the computer automatically checks you out (around noon I think), there could be problems.

So, if I check in at the Sports the first night, can I go straight to the parks and use my bands for tickets/FP+, then check into POFQ after the park around 4:30? Or will my bands not work until I check in at POFQ?

Yes you can. In December, we packed our bags and called bell services at BC to come get them for transfer to OKW. We then went to AK for the day and then headed to OKW around 4. Our room was ready and our bags were there so we had bell services bring them over. So easy!

Thanks. That sounds good. We plan to leave our first resort and go to a water park during the day. Then check in to second resort that afternoon.
