Split Stay/Dining Plan?

If I'm understanding your question, you are wanting to possibly do room only for the first night and then have a package (free dining, if offered) starting the next day and you're asking if your park tickets can be picked up prior to the start of the package? If so, then yes, park tickets can be picked up 3 days prior to the start of a package. If the room only and package are at the same resort, I think the park tickets can be done at the resort (although I'm not 100% sure). Otherwise, you would need to go to any park's Guest Relations office and request early ticket pick up. We did this in December 2010 and it worked out great. All I needed to show was a picture ID, but others have reported needing their package confirmation number, so have that with you just in case. Also, if you book the same resort/room type for both reservations, have the CM link them together and put in a request to keep the same room. This will not guarantee that you will not have to move, but they will do everything they can to keep you in the same room. Good luck.

I think that makes sense. Someone on another thread stated that I might need to use the first day on my 5 day parkhopper in order to add a day. Now I know you can pickup the tickets early but can you actually start to use them? It would be great to just be able to add a day verses buying a 1 day ticket.

Yes, you can use the park tickets right away . If you know you're going to go to the parks 6 days instead of 5, I'd get 6 day park hoppers with the package when you book that instead of 5 and adding the extra day later.

thanks, wasn't sure how that worked. So since the meals are loaded on the tickets, there not usuable till the next day, is that correct?Since I never did a split stay, I like the idea of staying at the same resort. I have already booked but will modify my dates if needed.

You are correct. You cannot access the dining plan until you check in for the package. If you do room only the first night with a package starting the next day, you will have to check in for the package and receive new KTTW cards with the dining plan activated on those cards. You will have to do this even if you don't have to change rooms. Also, if you do end up doing room only the first night and a package for the remainder, have the 2 reservations linked together as well as mention it at check in the first night. Tell the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room. HTH .
