Split-stay....ddp for all?

We are planning a week at WDW, with a split-stay between SSR (our home resort) and another DVC resort. How does it work with the DDP and park tickets? Can I get 7 day park hopper tix, but only 4 days of DDP (to correspond to days at SSR?) Or do I have to get 4 day park hopper and separate 3 day park hopper to get the ddp for only 4 days? Help, I am confused!

Park admission is not required for DVC members to get the DP. You can easily have the DP for only the SSR portion of your trip if desired and you may get whatever admission medium works best for your family.

Will you be taking a trip every year? If so, it might make more sense to get APs, since you will get 2 weeks of park days on each AP, and all you would have to do is skew your dates by a week to get both year's trips on one AP. Our next trip, we are staying in a 1 bedroom when it is just the 2 of us and a 2 bedroom while we have guests. We are doing the DDP only during th e 2 bedroom portion of our trip, so yes, you CAN just do dining plan for one of those ressies.
