Split stay....check in question

Hi all! We are going on our 1st DVC stay this August and doing a split stay between AKV and BWV. There will be 5 of us...myself, DF, DH, DS, and DD. DF does not do the parks and keeps himself busy driving around the area/people watching.

The day we check out of AKV and into BWV, my family of 4 will be in the parks, so can by DF check into BWV on his own without us there? He is on the reservation. If so, would they then leave our keys at check-in so we could get them when we arrive later in the day? There is a chance we would not be in the room where we arrive at the hotel.

He shouldn't have a problem checking in by himself as long as he's on the reservation. We've done split stays our last few trips and I always check in first and then go back and get everyone else. I always grab everyone else's key but I don't think it will be a problem to leave them at the desk for you to pick up later.

His only problem will be the villa might not be ready when you have to leave the first resort and isn't guaranteed until after 4PM.
