We are headed to the World next week. We stay 4 nights at VWL and 3 at Kidani. I have never done a split stay before. I realize they won't guarantee a room until after 4pm, plus next week is one of the busiest of the year with Easter and Spring Break. My question is does anyone think it makes a difference if we check in early in the morning at Kidani, or not until after lunch? Will a room maybe be prepared earlier if they have us already checked in early ? Just trying to ironout some details ahead of time as to what we'll do that day. Thanks for any suggestions and help!

the way I handled my split stay was
checkout of VWL, instruct the bell captain that my bags were to be delivered to AKV
go to the park as normal...spend all day at the park
come back in the evening, check-in at AKV and collect all my stuff

everything was easy, and waiting for me.

I don't believe that when you check-in will have any bearing on when your room is ready. Unless you are doing a dining plan on the second room and need the credits during the day, I see no real reason to rush over to Kidani Village and check-in early.

We usually make the move first thing in the morning. We pre-check in at the new resort and then head to the parks until we "get the text" that our room is ready. If it hasn't come in by around 3:00, we do call and check on it, and often our room is then ready and waiting for us. That's when we go to the new resort and get settled in before we head out for evening festivities.

I have dome two split days since they started online deck in. I do online check in for both my resorts and the day I check out of the first I go about mt normal plans. I am already checked in to my 2nd resort.
The one trip our 2nd resort was BLT so since we were going to Magic Kingdom that day we stopped by to pickup our food plan credit from the new resort.I was very surprised that my room WAS READY AT 9 AM.
I don't think its a guarantee but since online check in can be done up to 10 days ahead I think you have a better chance of getting in early. This has been my experience 4 times all at BLT and BCV. I did online check in and my rooms were all ready by 9-10 am when I arrived.

We just did a split stay. I also did online check in and told them we would be there at about 1:00 after a morning in the parks. We ended up getting to the resort at 1:15 and they handed us our cards. The room wasn't ready but we just put on our swim trunks and headed to the pool. We got the text that the room was ready at 2:15 and DH went to bell services and had them bring up our luggage, which had already arrived from the first resort we stayed at. It was painless. I don't think getting there increases your chances of getting in early unless you don't have a room request, then I could see you getting in sooner.
