Has anyone ever done this? I booked at PO-R, but now that I've looked at pics on-line, I like the looks of both! We are staying at least 2 weeks, what do you think about splitting the stay?

TIA

Never done this myself, so take this with a grain of salt!

I would go for it, if you are gonna be there for 2 weeks! We liked the looks of both, but since we're only staying 5 nites, didn't think it was worth it.

Keep in mind, though, that the two are within walking distance.

I have never stayed at Riverside but I have heard some negative things lately - rooms need refurbishment, etc... I did stay at FQ and absolutely LOVED it. It is by far our favorite moderate resort. Don't hesitate to stay there ;)

I think a split stay over 2 weeks is a great idea...I did it between ASMu and POFQ and that was only over a 6 day span!

Anyway, what about splitting between POFQ and something completely different like CBR? That way you feel like you've been on 2 different types of vacation wrapped in 1. I'm just thinking that where POFQ and POR are sister resorts that share alot it wouldn't make it feel much different staying at one, then the other. JMHO.

I agreee with the above poster...I'd split a stay between PO & a different resort (like CBR if you want a moderate). That's what we're doing next trip. DD has always wanted to try the Poly and I like the sound of the POFQ so we're spending 4 nights at POFQ & 5 at the Poly.

I stayed at POR and hated it. Found it to be way too spread out for me and had some problems with CM's. I LOVE Port Orleans FQ and have stayed there several times. I would recommend splitting your stay either between All Star Movies for a week, then head for POFQ or do POFQ then Caribbean Beach. I have split stays before and it was a nice change.

I just got back from POR, and although it was a little quiet, the resort is beautiful, and not as spread out as everyone says. Everything is within a couple minutes walking distance. PO-FQ, on the other hand, while the themeing is cute, the food court SUCKS, there is no restaurant, and only one pool. But, I agree that you should choose 1 of these, and then try a completely different resort. I have visited CSR, loved the look, and have stayed at CBR 3 times, and LOVE IT!!! But, I say stay at POR, most definitely!!!

I love POR but probably won't stay at POFQ again. There was nothing wrong I just though it was a bit bland. As you can see you will find everyone has a different opinion. My family loved POFQ!!!! I would say go ahead and split your stay but agree that you should try a different resort completely. POR and FQ are so close you can walk from one to the other very easily so it is almost like staying at both anyway.

The 2 resorts are sister resorts. Therefore, if you are staying at one you can use any of the pools at both. They seem very similar in their theme as well. I say go for 2 opposite resorts as well.

I've stayed at both and love both. If it was DH and I for 2 weeks, excellent idea! He slightly prefers POFQ, I slightly prefer POR. And no one's mentioned, since they're sister resorts, 1 refillable mug for the entire stay!

In October we stayed at POFQ for 2 nights, Hard Rock Hotel for 4 nights, and POR for 2 nights. No particular reason, except we're trying to stay at every resort and those were 2 we'd never stayed at before. We much preferred POFQ, but of course, everyone's taste is individual. Even though they are sister resorts, they are different enough that I think you'd enjoy staying at them both. Also, that's a good point about the refillable mugs!

Good suggestions, thanks everyone!

Here's my line of thinking...i will most likely be alone with 2 kids and i'd love for them to see some of another resort. we have stayed at all of the all stars and are ready to move up, if ya know what i mean, lol! however, i can't justify the cost of a deluxe at this time, and po-r and po-fq are the 2 that caught my eye. originally, i booked po-r because i've always wanted to stay there, but after visiting the resort, i'm curious about fq too. deb wills' pics convinced me to think about splitting the stay.

i realize that we can use either pool, one mug, etc, but i'm thinking room, and atmosphere overall. we do spend some longer evenings and some 'down time' at the hotel and we'd enjoy the rooms as well. since we will be at least 2 weeks, hopefully 2 and a half, we could be settled for a while in both resorts and still use our favorite amenities from the other with ease.

keep the dialogue coming, it's great food for thought!
