Split stay between BCV & BWV questions...

This October we will be doing our first "split stay" between BCV (first 5 nights)and BWV (last 2 nights). What's the easiest and best way to do this? Keep in mind that we will have our DS5 and DD2 with us. I'm assuming that we just need to give bells services a call to pick up our luggage or take it down to them. How far in advance would we need to call to have them pick up our luggage?

Our plan that day is to leave BCV in the morning to be at EPCOT by opening, spend the morning and afternoon there, then head on over to BWV at some point. How early can we expect our luggage to make it over to BWV incase we decide we want to swim that night? If we happen to have a container of juice or bottled water in our frig at BCV, will they transport that to BWV too if we ask? Or should we just plan on any beverage left at the BCV is lost?

Thanks!

We usually call Bell Services in the am when we are almost ready and ask how long to pick up bags...then they show up right ontime, usually quite promptly, definately less than 1/2 hour. Bell Services at both of these resorts is very good.

They won't move your bags into your new room...they will hold them and you call for them when you are in your room. I am not trying to be cynical, but I think this is done as a tipping opportunity for their staff, but they are quick and friendly! Usually the bags are brought right over to your room (at the new resort) when you call, but I want to say give them until 3pm to get them moved to the new resort. I don't think there is a good way to move refrigerated items-- the stuff gets tagged and stored, so I think they would forget about refrigerating stuff.

It may be more convenient to check in first at BWV then head to Epcot- they will give you a card w/a number to call for your room assignment when it is ready. That way when you are done at Epcot, you can make sure your room is ready. That way you can bring your juice/water to BWV and ask Bell Services to hold it for you in their refrigerated case and any other items you may want to have on hand (swimsuits) in case your plans change and you don't want to worry about where your luggage is.

When we did this BC to BW move last, the rest of the family headed off to a park, and I stayed in the room and called down and had bell services come get the bags (took them about 15 minutes to get there). They handled all of it from that point, and told me that the bags would be delivered to BW by 4:00 p.m. (apparently, they only move bags between resorts once a day).
I then walked straight over to BW, and checked in early. As Perdita said, by doing it this way, you already have your room keys, and the card to call and see if your room is ready (and get the room #). Also, by checking in very early in the a.m., you avoid alot of the check-in crowd that arrive in the afternoon.
Once we got to BW @ 4:30 p.m., we went straight to the room. From the room we called for the bags to be brought up, and they were delivered to the room within 20 minutes.

I moved from DVC BWV to BCV and had my fridge stuff in a separate bag. They do have a refrigerator at each resort for storing cold items. It was no problem at all.

Your entire party does not have to be present at check in? Our Boardwalk reservation is for room only. We're staying on points so there's no MYW package and we're not adding on the dining plan. So I should be able to check in by myself and they will give me my husbands room key? Is that right?

I would just pack up the bags and walk them over to BWV from BCV. No way would I wait for BCV to move them. It's about a 7 min walk.
I would head to BW and check in before heading to Epcot in any case. Leave your bags with Bell Services. If you have something that needs to be refridgerated, tell them and they will deal with it.

If there is no dining plan involved, you can check the entire group in.
