We are staying at the BC (for the first time!!:cool1:) We have booked a room for half of our stay through Fairytale Weddings and then the remainder of our stay with a regular reservation. My question is...will I have to change rooms half way through our vacation or will I be able to stay in the same room. Both reservations are for the same type of room. TIA!

You can request to stay in the same room, and most times they will allow it if possible, but it isn't garunteed. I would call the resort about a week before check-in to make the request.

You can call and have the reservations linked as continuing stay, usually if you booked with a TA, the TA would have to do it. Does TA know you booked 2nd part of vacay on your own? If it's an uncomfortable situation, because you own the second part of trip maybe you can phone and ask.
When you arrive I'd go to the front desk and tell them again you'd like to stay in the same room, and yet again your last night in first room.
On your last night the room assignors should be able to give you an answer if you can stay in that room.

Thanks, I booked both parts of the trip on my own. The Fairytale weddings discount was only available for part of our stay which is why there are two reservations. I'll call about a week before and also ask when we check in. Thanks for the advice.

I've done this before and once I got to stay and once I had to move. Moving was no big deal with little disruption during our trip. Have fun!

Did you have to move your luggage yourself? And did you have to hang around and wait for the second room to be ready? I don't want to spend a morning waiting to switch rooms...

You can either call Bell Services to pickup your luggage or you can take it to their desk in the Lobby. But you do have to be in the room if you call. You should tip $1-$2/bag both on drop off and when they deliver to your room.
You will be " homeless " for more than the morning. It is likely that the new room won't be available until 3 or after. But once you take care of your luggage you are free to head to a park.

Yep. I called bell services and they stored our luggage (we were at the GF so we moved buildings) and then we headed immediately for the parks. When we got back in the afternoon for our daily break, I called to have them drop them off at the new room. Easy peasy. :)

If you have to switch rooms, depending on how full resort is, there may be a wait to get your new room. Check out is 11:00, and your next room may not be available until 3:00. Most of the time ive been successful staying in the same room.
This happened to me at Poly, but I was waiting for a specific floor in a specific building. My move was by choice because my request wasn't met and was told that room would be available the next day if I wanted to move. It was by my choice. I probably could have had another room sooner. I had to wait till 3:30 for next room.

You can go to the parks, Disney Springs, if your room isn't ready. Bell Service will come get your luggage.
