split stay at SAME resort question

We booked a package with free park hoppers at CBR for a Monday-Thursday stay and have recently decided to fly in a day early.

Because the only room available for our original booking was preferred and there is no preferred rooms available for Sunday we can't just "add a night." However, we also can't do the full stay as a standard room now because there are no standard rooms available for the latter half of the stay.

So we now have a Sunday night reservation at CBR

and a separate reservation at CBR for Mon-Thursday.

Has anyone done this before?

I am hoping something will open on either end and we can simply stay put in the same room.

Will they move my bags? I talked to one CM who said they will take everything from my room and move it to the next and the 2nd CM said we would need to drag our stuff up to the baggage hold area.

Also, can I check into the 2nd room really early so that we can start using our park tickets on Monday morning?

Between the price of airfare and the fact that we are not able to get ANY ADRs and CBR is completely sold out it is safe to say we won't be traveling school vacation week again anytime soon.

When you check in, be sure to tell them you have a continuing reservation, and that you would prefer not to change rooms if possible. Since your rooms are in different categories, this may not be possible, but if you don't ask, you won't know. I've only done a split stay once (because I was on a code with a max 14 day stay, and I was there longer), but my room category wasn't different.

If you do have to move, have Bell Services pick up your bags and go over to the front desk first thing in the morning to do the second check in. So long as you go over after about 5am, you shouldn't have any problem with the second check in. Mine took me maybe 10 minutes (although I didn't have to change rooms, so it might take a little longer if you do). Go to the parks as usual, and just call Bell Services when you come back to the resort. Odds are, if you do have to change rooms, that your new room won't be ready until the afternoon.

I was wondering the same thing - We are staying at CR then moving to the Poly where we have 2 different reservations. We are on a convention rate the first 9 nights (at both resorts) then at AAA rate for the next 4 nights. I'm really hoping to get to stay in the same room at the Poly, but if we have to move a second time we will...:goodvibes
