We're going to be in DW from (tentatively) Oct 30 to 11/8 this fall. My sister is traveling with us for about half that time. She wants to stay with us and also in a value, so we're going to stay in the All Stars Movies for a few nights and after she leaves, we're going to move to Port Orleans Riverside.

In the past, our times have always coincided with free dining which we take advantage of. If, for example, there is a free dining offer from 9-15 to 10-31, would we only be able to use it during our All Star stay? A Disney rep told me our second stay would be a separate reservation so I didn't think it would qualify as the "first day of stay falling in the promotion period" if you know what I mean.

Has anyone encountered this? I can change my dates if that helps, but was trying to hit both the Halloween and the Christmas party if possible.

In order to do Free Dining you need to purchase a park ticket (might be more than one day now) and stay at a WDW resort during the promotion.

I don't believe there is a way to do Free Dining for both portions of your trip without purchasing another set of tickets for everyone that is staying at the second resort and it would need to check in during the promotion (Free Dining).

Were you upgrading to POR just to get the DDP or did you want to stay there? Will she be in a separate room at ASMo resort? If she is in the room with you then you would get free dining credits for her even after she leaves.

I see what you mean. If it's a free dining promotion, I forgot about the needing to buy at least two tickets for that portion of the stay. So it would be more than us just getting the six day tickets like we'd planned.

She was going to stay in a room close to ours. She's kind of a nervous nelly. :) We actually are interested in any promotion of course, but I was just wanting to stay in POR since I'd never been, and it looked nice. Sounds like it might just have to wait till next time.

Just a few thoughts, you could go with the room only discount for the few days and the food would be purchased with that money. We always have food left on the dining plan, it's good through midnight the day you check out. Generally we would pick up a meal at Norway of a sandwich, or the restaurant in soarin. There are lots of snacks and fruits to pick up too for breakfast. If it's a two night stay, one day at least is covered.

The other, thing is staying at the value just extend the days and meal. I made a mistake last trip and switched to C B and it was so much moving and packing I never really enjoyed the two days there.
