We are renting DVC for four nights with two-day park pass and DXDP. then we are going to west coast of FLA for five nights. then back to DW for two nights and one park day. (so buying a three-day pass upfront to use two at the beginning and one at the end.) we just bought DVC in the interim after having rented from david's. so we want to use points that will expire for these last two nights.

question: can we purchase DDP on back end of trip with just the two night stay and no "new" park passes bought?

I believe you can. DDP used to be available only as part of a package, but then it has become available as part of a "ticketless package", so I think you can. The times when you were required to have minimum ticket days, I think applied primarily to discounts like free dining - you had to have room+ min 2 day tickets for free dining. However, I'm not DVC and don't know if that throws further kinks into it.

On a DVC reservation you are not required to have either a ticket purchase or a minimum stay to add a dining plan. There are no "packages" associated with DVC reservations.

You must add the plan no later than 48 hours before arrival and pay for it as soon as you add it.
