Split Rez Question for FD?

So our original rez was for ten nights but the arrival date was in the blackout zone for FD. We changed to two ressies, eight nights during FD and two that are not. When we rebooked, the agent told us that we could keep our 10-day MYW park hopper tickets, and if our first two nights were at the same resort as the eight nights, we could just go to the front desk of the resort and get them added onto our two-day KTTW cards, thereby making them ten.

Has anyone done this before? I realize we're trying to get the most of the system and making it more complicated for ourselves, but I'm hoping someone out there has some experience with this.

Please help? :worship:

I think I remember reading that they would now allow you to get your tickets a day or two early if your ticket package started a few days later.

I think you will be fine. Hopefully, someone who has actually done this will post for you.

If staying at a Disney resort (which you are), you can pick up tickets up to 3 days ahead of time. If you are staying at the same resort for both stays, you may be able to pick them up there, otherwise it's one of the Guest Relations offices (Parks or DTD)

So, for your situation, you should be absolutely fine :)

Thank you both for your replies.

Just to confirm, we would be able to have them put the 10-day park hopper ticket onto our two-day KTTW cards so we could start the 10 days upon arrival?

I tried this last Dec and was NOT allowed to do so. When doing a package, every aspect of the package starts the day of said package. You can't get a package for 12/5-12/12 and get your tickets on 12/2. But, that's not what the OP is asking anyway. They are just combining a 2 day ticket with an 8 day ticket to avoid having 2 separate KTTW cards.

Actually, the scenario you posed is exactly what we're trying to do. We have a package for xx/x-xx/y and we're trying to pick up the tickets from that package for xx/z (two days prior). So if you're saying they will not allow us to pick up or use the tickets two days prior to the package start date, then the whole thing is useless to us.

I was going to try to do this once and I was told I could not. Then recently I have read several times that people have successfully done this. Post this on the Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies board. Alot more people read that and you may find people who have done this and can advise you. :goodvibes

It's not useless. Why do you need days 3 thru 10 on day 1? You can't use those extra days early anyway. You don't have a need for the 3rd day on your tickets until the actual 3rd day. You can add those days when you go to the front desk to check out/check in on the morning of day 3.

I think this is what is happening. The OP can't get free dining for days 3 - 10 unless she buys tickets with her package. She has a room only ressie for days 1 & 2 because those days are blacked out for FD. She wants her tickets early so she can get into the parks on days 1 & 2. Some people say this is possible. I have read of people doing this, I think they picked up the tickets at DTD. :goodvibes

They've made a recent policy change (sometime this spring). So it's possible it wasn't allowed previously, but it is official policy now to allow this for up to 3 days. (There was a thread in the strategies forum about it, and it may be in CF's ticket sticky by now).

You've got it. That's EXACTLY what we're trying to do. I'd just like to have a definitive answer before we make things permanent. Perhaps I will post this question on another board as well. Thanks for your input, all.
