Has anyone ever been able to split their DP points between two room keys to keep one person from spending all of them? Just curious.

hmmm I have never seen anyone do that. I know each one of my families keys could be used for dinning.

LisaNJ25, thanks for the input. I always appreciate advice from a NJ gal named Lisa, one of my favorite people is one. :thumbsup2

I am pretty sure all the keys have dining points on them. I know when we were there last year even my children could use their key to pay for their meals.

Stephanie, this I know but since I have often only had one room key with charging privileges I was wondering if they might be able to just put half the dining points on one card and half on the other to avoid having one person in the room accidentally use up more than their half of the points. Maybe I should call the resort and ask?

I would think that someone else has had this question. Maybe I am the odd ball? Would not be the first time. :rotfl:

I'm thinking that is can't be done. I remember someone else having a similar question a while back. They didn't trust the person they were rooming with, and wanted to keep things separate.

I'd try to think of a method for each person to keep track of their "allotment" and how/when they've been used. In a case like this, it would seem to make sense to say....each of us can eat one CS and one TS and one snack a day. Once you've done that, you have to pay for anything else you want that day out of pocket.

I am guessing that can only be done if there are separate reservations between the two rooms.

I am bringing a novice with me and am not sure that I can explain the system to her so that is why I am thinking about splitting the credits. :)

I cannot believe I have thought of a question that no one else has. I have never seen a site with so much emphasis on detail as this one. :rotfl:

I would think that many families. especially with teens that roam the parks alone, might have this problem. :confused3

Slightly Goofy and not getting any better

If you do separate ressies for each room it can be done with each having their own credits.

Also, you may be able to do all or nothing. This would be where the other party would not have any credits on their room key card. I think that could be possible, but I would not be a happy camper with you if you did this to me.

If you are not separated from one another, you can control what's going on anyway.

I think you can explain in simple terms to this person that they have so many snack credits, etc. for their stay. Also, each time a credit is used it will be reflected on the receipts. You could tell if you pay very good attention who is using what with the credits. Tell this person they must keep all their receipts and you could do a bookeeping of the credits each day to keep score. You can tell by the places you go to, as well. I'm not sure about snacks, but I think guest services in your resort can give you a printout of where the credits are used and when. I know it's in their system. They can at least tell you if they won't print it out.

Calling Disney in this instance is probably still your best bet, if you really insist on splitting credits with one reservation. I doubt that you can do it, but they will have the best answer.

Another idea.. over on the creative dis board there is a dis member who can make you personalized "punch cards" with the amount of credits you have. this way she can mark it off as she ues them. Its a business card size card.

Maybe being a novice she will be loathe to leave my side but I doubt I can 'control' her. I cannot control anyone. No one is scared of me. I know, I am a mom and grandmom and tutor small children and they just laugh if I threaten to 'get em'. :rotfl:

I keep a small notebook on all my trips where I write down notes and such and have always kept track of the DP points on the back page which has worked well in the past. .:thumbsup2

Thank you all for the input. I might call Disney and see what they say. If they say it is possible I will report back.
