What is the deal with this place? Has anyone ever been there? I drove up to it and it gave me a creepy "Spirited Away" vibe. But at the same time I really wanted to go in.

It closed Jan 1st. It was mostly funded by the China Govt. and hit hard by the lighter travel to Orlando. It is rumored that someone has purchased it.

Did you ever go there? I'm curious what it was all about.

I went last May and it was really very good, even in it's run down state. It must have been beautiful the first couple of years. It is a walk through park of inticate miniature buildings and villages from Chinese history. There are replicas (rather large for miniatures) og the Temple of Heaven, the Palace and the terracotta warriors along with many, many others including the Great Wall. I was not sure how much time I would spend here. I ended up being there for 4 hours and didn't really see everything. They also had some shows. I saw one of dancing and acrobats and such that was good. It is to bad people didn't go to Splendid China as it was very impressive.

:Pinkbounc Hi. Yes it closed Jan 1/04 blaming economic downturn. I did not go to park itself but went to a show Chinese acrotbats within first part of park that was $15.00 incl. dinner. The 90 min. show was well worth the price the free dinner was only worth that (free).
