I am going to Disney world and I’m terrified to go on splash mountain. I am twelve and hate the feeling of butterflies when you drop.

Should I go?

It looks bigger than it actually is. There is only one big drop and you don’t really get butterflies. Otherwise my daughter wouldn’t ride it. The drop is only a few seconds and really isn’t that fast or steep. Try it!

know the feeling - believe it or not - during the day I will not do it - but at night - for some reason it is not as bad on me.

Splash Mountain is fun! There are so many cute little animals to look at and details in the ride, which distracts greatly from the 5-second drop at the very end.

Plus when you get to the drop at the end... Look UP! Look up at the clouds and sky as you are going up the hill (also take a deep breath at this part) -and you will see an AWESOME view of the castle. By the time you're looking at the castle, it'll be over with, except the last little turn and splashing from the waterfall at the end...

I never tried space mountain or expedition Everest. I went on test track, mission space, Big thunder mountain. Never anything with a drop.

It helps to scream when you go over the drop. Really. It releases some of that energy and helps with my “butterflies” a lot.

If you can handle those rides, Splash Mountain will be no problem

Yep! Personally you couldn't PAY me to go on BMTRR again... ugh I hate how it swings you back and forth with the turns... when we rode it, it was pouring rain as well, so that was also extra unpleasant! LOL

Conversely I went on Splash Mtn THREE times during the trip...

Just stay away from the Tower of Terror and you should be ok at wdw.

(Expedition Everest doesn't have a big drop but it does have a section that bothers me, so I wouldn't recommend it.)
