That is so weird Disneyland's Splash Mountain never closes down for like how Disney World's Splash Mountain is closed for a long rehab. Disneyland's just keeps on running good so it never has to close. Unless I'm wrong & don't know when Disneyland's Splash Mountain rehab is. It's always open even the whole month of Feb! I'm not complaining though! I love how Disneyland's Splash is always open!

Agreed! Its not one of those typical rides that you hear of often that go down for a yearly major refurb. Although when it does have to get shut down, I always find its either in the earlier part of the year before May, and its usually lengthy.

I believe it had a pretty lengthy refurb about 4-5 years ago. Can't remember exact dates, but it's been closed before... All rides have to close at some time. The bigger rides just might need longer periods of time to go over everything, and January-February is a better time to close WDW's Splash than any other time probably.

Ya, we were there during that rehab. Actually we arrived the day before and made a mad dash to Splash and rode it about 10 times!

Ditto about the rehab 3-5 years ago. I believe that is when they got new logs that have a double seat in the back.

Just rode it yesterday, it has got to be my favorite ride!

There aren't set schedules because rides don't go down for "yearly refurbs" except It's a Small World and Haunted Mansion when they put up/bring down their holiday transformations. Many rides do go down throughout the course of the year, but for example, I don't think Buzz Lightyear was down at all during 2009, although BTMRR and Snow White were. Actually one exception is the Matterhorn I think. I'm pretty sure that's one of the only rides that goes down at least once a year because it's so high maintenance.

Ride closures are announced a couple months in advance unless they are really long refurbs (multiple months we're talking), which would be announced a little earlier.

Splash Mountain is one of my favorite rides there. I was there Sun & Mon & rode it 6 times. Out of the 6 times I got to ride it 3 times in a row-after the first time I had to get off & go through the que but the next 2 I got to stay on & that was in the front!!! I am so glad it's always open when I go. I won't go if it's closed!!! Splash has a single rider line which you can get right on & skip the long line. I tried that but got put in the very back all times I tried the single rider line. It's not worth it riding Splash in the way back you don't even get wet. From now on all times I go on it will be in the front row. You can see everything & at least get somewhat wet. But even in the front row you don't get soaked just a light spray. Does anyone else think here they should up the splash so you get SOAKED to the skin like on Dudley Do Right Ripsaw Falls? That would make Splash even more awesome & also there should be a waterfall before climbing the hill at the beginning of the ride. & Here's a secret shhhhhhh ride Splash early as many times as you can then get a fast pass to save for later in the day. After the fireworks ride again several times in a row. & Do you know I have only been on the Walt Disney World Splash 1 time only??? That is pathetic I know!!! The 1 time I went on it was Easter Sunday 2002 at about 10:30pm & I was stuck in the back! But thankfully I have been on Disneyland's so many times!!!

We were also there during the rehab. Rough ride to miss out on!!! I also notice that the one in WDW is down often for extended times during any given day. That has happened at least once during our last three trips over there.
