Splash Mountain suddenly off and GET OUT

I was riding Splash Mountain last night during the Halloween party and right near the beginning the animatronics stopped, the lights came up, and the ride didn't return to normal for the duration.

As we got off we asked what happened and they said "we turned it off." They ushered us out with a quickness and everyone who was in line was already gone. No looking at post ride photo - just get out and no one allowed back in the Splash Mountain area.

I'm so curious - has anyone seen this happen? What could it have meant?

Climbing out of a vehicle would be one way. I’m sure malfunctions are more common, but inconsiderate people manage to do it too.

Yea this was odd. Cast members cleared guests from anywhere around the entrance to the ride and made a little human wall. I assumed a missing child or some such.

Probably not anything interesting. Clearing a ride isn't a rare occurrence and they won't tell you why.

I believe I read in the MNSSHP thread someone stated a guest jumped out of the boat and the ride was shut down all night afterwards.

When we road it yesterday, there was a popcorn bucket cover on the track during one of the climbs. If they saw something else fall on the tracks with the cameras, they would probably need to shut down the ride to retrieve it.

A few months back there was a thread about people getting out of the boat on POTC and taking pictures, and just screwing around............................later on that same thread some how some one found out they were banned for life for going to Disney parks.................................I am searching for that thread now and cannot find.........................

Does anyone else remember this????

We were on ToT once and the ride was stopped after one short drop. The elevator doors opened and the CM told our elevator that we could thank the front row for the short ride because they kept putting their feet up on the front edge of the car. Talk about stupid! I wish they could have just booted the stupid people out and let the rest of us ride again, but we were all ushered out. Super disappointing when idiots ruin your favorite ride, especially after waiting to get on it.

We thought so too but no luck. We had to settle for aggressively giving the morons the stink eye on the way out.

This has happened to me on Haunted Mansion, and most recently on Spaceship Earth (lady got out of her ride vehicle and just walked down using her cell phone as a light, we had to sit there forever while CMs investigated). I have now been around Haunted mansion numerous times when they have evacuated like this and I always assume now it's because someone did something stupid.

We saw a sign earlier this week reminding guests that getting out of a ride boat would result in removal from the park. I can’t remember which ride, but I thought it was new. Must be an uptick in people doing that.

We were just on EE today when the ride was delayed right before we were supposed to go backwards, drop and pull into the station. When we finally exited, we saw CMs trying to retrieve something from the track. On our last trip, almost every single big ride we tried to get on shut down and we witnessed one woman drop her phone on Aliens and completely shut down the ride. I really wish people old secure their stuff so they don’t ruin the rides for other people

I agree, why should you be punished for their actions? Definitely not fair, but hope you eventually went back on!

Guests behaving badly. Take some nice photos of your family while on Main Street, not while on a ride. I guess Disney needs a device disabler and have a great big sign disclosing it in front of each ride in a bunch of languages.

Wonder if it gets bad enough they'll have to go the universal route and just straight ban phones and things like that on some of the rides.
