Splash Mountain....how wet?

Going back in April and my 9 yr old says she is brave enough for Splash Mountain. I'm wondering how wet most riders get. Would you say it's a 'nice little spray', 'fairly wet, but not soaked', or ' give me a towel and a change of clothes!' sort of wet?. Does it matter much which area of the log you are in? Since it will be April, I'm not sure how warm it will be if we are walking around wet for a while.

I've barely gotten splashed on some rides of Splash and got faily wet on other rides. I've never been give me a towel soaked. The worst has been getting one side pretty solidly wet while the other was bone dry.

I wear a rain jacket or poncho sometimes. You can get pretty wet, but not changing clothes wet usually.

It really depends. Sometimes I get wet and sometimes I don't. It depends on where you sit, and if your boat gets stuck by the spray from when other boats are going down the hill. I would say it's never been "change my clothes" wet, not even close to Kali River Rapids. We save it for our last ride of the night so then we aren't walking around in wet clothes all day if we do get wet.

Last year during MK EMH about 12:30AM, we got soaked, like change your clothes soaked. We were in the front row with only another mother & daughter in the 2nd row. I have never been that wet prior or after. I think it was quite unusual to get that wet. There were very few shops open, but DD and got a couple T-shirts to wear, but no shorts.

The only other time we got really wet, was when the ride broke down in the jumping water between the frogs section. We sat there for 15min and were quite wet.

Most of the time we just get a little splashed. I will wear a poncho this time around, just in case.

A few times soaked, but mostly just a little wet and sometimes not wet at all.

I think a lot of it is about where you sit and the weight of the log. I've gotten off dry, ive gotten off just shoes wet, I've gotten off soaked. It's a crapshoot every time!

Like others have said, it really does depend- you can get really wet on one ride on it and the next, just a few splashes. I rode it so many times last Nov and I don't remember ever getting soaked or even that wet at all. I always sit on the left side of the log too because of that waterfall at the end.. your log can stop right next to it and you can get pretty wet just from that alone if you are sitting on the right side lol.

You will be in Florida in April.The amount of wetness wont matter. Florida has 2 seasons: Summer and January.

Conventional wisdom (which may be dated) is that every third boat gets soaked. I don't know if that's still the magic number, but the water cannon is programmable, and some reports indicate that they vary the spray based on the weather.

The only time that we ever get wet enough to even need a napkin anymore is if we are in the front two rows and there is no one else in the boat with us. I really miss the water cannons that used to drench us.

Rode it about 8 times on our last trip. Sometimes barely wet, never more than fairly wet and never got soaked. But I never sat in the front seat. The seat on the right get a bit more wet.

Sitting in the front row gets you soaked. 2nd row on back? Spotty at best.

It depends on where you are, further back usually not much but first row you'll probably get quite wet. Even when in the second row it usually isn't bad

I've gotten drenched on SM before, but only in hot weather. When I ride it in colder temps, I don't seem to get more than tiny droplets. I think they use water cannons that maybe are turned off in fall/winter?

Maybe it wasn't my day, but first thing, our log was stopped near the end by the waterfall as the boats were stacking up, I got completely soaked, dh not so much.
I had to leave and completely change clothes - no way can I go around soaked until I dry (this was in April). I 'was not' a happy camper! I have not ridden it since. So, I can say with experience, you take your chances when you ride, so just be aware!!

I've also only been drenched in hot weather. When it's cooler, they seem to have the ability to "turn down" the amount of water. For instance, we rode twice before 9 a.m. on a December morning when the temps were around 50, and got no more than sprinkles on us. On our trip before that, in late August, it was in the 90s and we came off drenched. We had the same position in the boat both times, too (first two rows).

It depends on where you sit. If you're in the front row, you'll get a little wet, but not extremely wet, whereas back row, you'll barely get wet at all.
