splash mountain fastpasses

I haven't been to Disney in a couple of years and my brother is planning a trip the first week of May. He is asking me why Splash Mountain isn't an option for fast pass and I'm not sure why. I remember when i was choosing my fastpasses that anything down for refurbishing was listed. Does this just mean there are no fast passes available and he should keep checking back?

Hmmm, I'm sure someone will have a great answer but I just happened to be linking tickets now so I checked and I can see that there is Splash Mountain FP availability up until April 17th (that's as far out as my tickets will allow me to view)

Thank you! i checked refurbishments for May and I didn't see it on the list so that's good I think. if there are no fastpasses will it say that or will it just not show as an option? I can't remember?

It will say "Currently Unavailable" and be listed at the bottom of the list row. To the side it will say "There are no more Fast Pass times for this experience..."

i would think the same thing. I went the first week of February a couple of years ago and it was down for refurb and that made sense to me, not May though.

And I just checked to see if I could modify times and still showed lots of available times.???

It would all depend on the length of refurbishment. Disneys priorities on having all rides open seem to be 1. Christmas, 2. spring breaks, 3. Summer. If the refurbishment was going to be long enough that you couldn't do it between Christmas and mid march then may might make sense.

just checked mine also will be there may 4-9 a few in our group already have fastpasses for splash mountain. we had a few left over and it still shows available times.

I'm baffled they would do it without any announcement yet. I"m not baffled they would quickly close a ride if it's a safety concern but it's still opened. this isn't like space in cali where an inspection found a crack and they immediately closed it. It has been down often (not constant, just often) lately so maybe there is a bigger operational issue they need to fix.

but look at last years list, they took some prime rides like dino down height of summer. btmr was down pretty long in a very crowded time.

Right. I looked at that thread on the Rumors board and the person who initially reported that they heard the rumor from a CM posted in February. That doesn't sound like an emergency safety concern to me. I too would be surprised if there's no announcement by now.
