Refurb! Bummer! That's one of my favorite things at Disneyland. Not only is this my first 1/2 marathon, it's also my first trip to DW. I'm a true blue Disney girl! Is this the first trip for anybody else?

:yay:

wait, wasn't it down last marathon weekend, too?! Or am I getting my Disney trips confused?

That is just so unfair. I love love love Splash Mountain, and I am almost sure it was down this time last year. It seems a little odd that they would close it for refurbishment 2 years in a row like that . . .

Well, I guess I can't complain too much as it isn't my first trip, and I did go on Splash Mountain just a few weeks ago out in California. But I'm still bummed.

I remember it being closed this years marathon weekend also:(

I am hoping that it will be too cold to even want to go on a water ride!

However, last year I didn't even go to the parks other than to run through them so it won't matter much to me.

If I am not mistaken, it has been down for the past two january's. I don't care for me but it is the favorite ride of my DS5. Oh well. I will have to sneak in another trip sometime.

It was not closed for Jan 2006, but it was so cold that very few people went on it. I thought it was great 'cause I got to go several times in a row. It was closed though for Jan 2007. Bummer, I hate it when favorite rides are down. The Haunted Mansion in DL was closed a year ago when DH and I were there for the inaugural half. I'll probably never be back to DL, so I was really disappointed. But everything needs refurbishing and I certainly wouldn't want Disney to let things fall apart, it is just hard not to be disappointed!

So, two years ago for Marathon Weekend it was COLD but last year it was warmer and humid, is that right? So this year who knows?! I'm with you, Cecelia...I'm hoping for a COOL morning January 12 for the 1/2!! Here in Oregon with have pretty low humidity, and I don't want to crash before I even get to the start line!!
