Splash Mountain and pregnant...

Thank you for this info!

I really had no idea Splash was considered so rough, etc. I've ridden many a log flume ride (not pregnant before I get the FLAMES, lol) and they are all pretty tame w/ the exception of the drops and getting wet of course. ;) I just assumed Splash was similar... I think I'll stick to Pooh and wait for the fam... (and pass on the cigarette).

Good decision! No harm in asking if you aren't familiar with the ride!

Your welcome. In my personal opinion, though, I don't think Splash IS that rough. It just seemed like it would be good to know WHY they say to avoid roller coasters instead of just saying "do it" or "don't do it". That way, you can make the decision that is best for you. Since I often sidetrack myself and hijack threads I'll add that I just pulled down a list of rides for a trip with a friend who's son can't ride jerky rides, and basically you can do EVERYTHING in DL except Spash, Space MT., Matterhorn, Star tours and Indy. That should leave you with a pretty full schedule and extra time to watch the shows, shop, and eat a treat while people watching (you'll need that treat....you're eating for two ;)!)

I see these kinds of questions posted from time to time and it always makes me ask the same question: why would anyone risk it? If the restrictions/warnings are posted it should be clear.

Enjoy your pregnancy and stay safe, you're carrying precious cargo. Disneyland will always be there waiting for you.

This. I have lost three babies this year - a singleton whose due date is coming up on April 29 and twins lost in February - all in the 2nd trimester and also had a stillborn DD in 2002. I only post this because I can't imagine risking my babies for 5 minutes of fun, they are just too precious to me. :confused3 In any case, your OB or MW is the professional to ask, not us.

ETA: I didn't see the second page of posts and your decision not to ride until after I wrote this. I'm glad. :-)

Okay, I didn't ride Splash while I was pregnant, but I did ride Soarin' which also suggests that women who are expecting not ride.

Sorry.....it's not that my baby wasn't precious to me......it was just that----Soarin'? Really?

I'm fairly certain that they removed the posted restrictions for expectant mothers riding Soarin'
