Hello Dis'sers,

Has anyone been to the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show?

Is it worth 2 dinner credits (we are on the Dining Plan)?

What is the seating like? If we are a party of 2, do we get a table for 2 or is it shared tables with other parties?

Thanks awfully

Hi there,

We went last year, and had our own table, but there were 5 of us. I don't remember any tables for 2, but I could be wrong. There were long tables at the front by the stage, and then we were further back, up a level where the tables were smaller.
The food was OK, but the dessert was awful! Even my chocoholic kids turned their noses up!! Drinks are included, (and the gratuity) though I had the rose wine, and it was luke warm, so maybe the red would be better? DH had lager, so he was OK!;)
The show itself, had some really good bits, some cheesy, and maybe was a tad too long... Also very loud! Just my opinion :)
We're glad we did it, because we wouldn't have paid oop for it, but then, with 5 of us, it would've been alot more than for 2, so maybe not such an issue? It depends what sort of eve you would like. Definitely not romantic/intimate/quiet!
Have you thought of doing Hoop-de-do? It seems to get good reviews. We are going to try it this year, and I think you would get a table for 2.
Hope this has been some help

Jules x

PS Also I forgot to mention it is dependant on the weather. The night we booked was torrential rain from about 5pm, and they didn't decide it would go ahead untill 7.15ish.We had to dash over from OKW, using transport, because one of the reasons we had booked was so DH could have a drink and not have to drive!

I agree with Jules. We were 4 and right at the front on long tables with another family of about 8 so we had a great view.

The food was okay but when we ran out they didn't bring any more and the dessert was way too rich, stick to the roof of your mouth kind of rich.

The show was 2 hours long and my butt was so numb by the end. The kids missed the point of the show I think, plus some of it was cheesy but the fire eaters were good.

We heard Wishes towards the end of the show and the weather was bad but i'm glad we did it but we won't do it again. The Luau at Royal Pacific Resort was so much better but obviously that's not a consideration because of the DDP.

My motto is try everything once, you never know you could have the best time so you should probably try it.

We went a few years ago and loved it. We paid OOP, and were seated at the long tables right at the front. Our party consisted of 4 adults & 1 child. Our DD was mesmerised by all the dancers, but we all enjoyed the show.

The food was decent enough, the drinks were refilled often - it seemed like our server brought my DH & DDad beers every 10 minutes!

Although it's not something that I feel is a "must do" on every trip, I would definately go back at some point in the future.

Grumpster! Long time, no see! How the devil are you and the Dopester?

ETA: If we're ever there at the same time as you, we'll glady share a table with you. Who needs romantic, right?

Thank you all for your responses.

On reflection we have decided that this isn't for us. Reviews on another site also suggest that it's overlong and a bit "hokey". Several people have also said that some people allow thier children to run along the tables. I'd only end up rowing with someone for (a) letting thier children get on my nerves, (b) letting thier children do something that realy isn't safe and, (c) having children when they're clearly irresponsible!

Deb, Any evening with you is romantic. Whaddya chattin' 'bout gurl?

 I can't imagine anyone even trying to run along the tables between all the plates/food/glasses!

Our worst experience at a WDW dinner show was at Mickey's Backyard BBQ. We witnessed (but lost sight of) 2 small children having to carry their drunk mother out at the end. :sad2:

The advertised offer of "unlimited beer" obviously meant "drink as much as you can until you pass out because you've already paid for it" to her. :rolleyes1 Actually made DH & I embarassed to be Brits that night as there was quite a few a bit worse for wear with children in tow. :guilty:
