A few questions about this show:

Is it outside or inside?

How corny is it? (I can handle intentional corniness, but a "bad" show might put me in a bad mood.)

Are the seats jammed together?

If you're on a dining plan, can you get a higher category of seating by choosing a later show time like you can for Hoop de Doo?

Thanks in advance, my guests seemed interested in this show but I'm very skeptical. I've heard mixed reviews on this show for years.

I've been to the luau twice, once when I was little and once about 2 years ago. If I remember correctly it is outside, but under a pavilion. I don't think the seats are really jam-packed together, but you may end up sitting at the same table as another family. As far as the show, I'd give it a 10 for corniness. I think if you go expecting the worst, you'll be pleasantly surprised! I think it's my least favorite dinner show, but do give it a try once. :thumbsup2

My DH 42, DS 15, DD 8, and I went Oct 2006 and my kids LOVED it. It was outdoors but covered. I expected DS to be utterly bored but wasn't a bit. Both kids loved the fire dancing the best. We would do it again:goodvibes

I've seen the show a few times. The thing is it went from sort of hocky 70's style aloha show to an updated show geared a bit more for kids. We went to the early show so maybe the later one if different.

The food was good and the entertainment wasn't bad at all. Not too much corniness, but because it was geared for kids there was some.

We did not like it at all. Very corny and if you don't have good seats forget it. You can't see and be involved. We felt like we wasted our time, points, etc.. Sorry! We liked Hoop Dee Doo a lot more. More involvement with the show.

We went to the luau this past August and to be honest it was awful! It is outside but covered and yes the chairs and tables are all jammed together. The show was awful until the traditional dances and fire guy in the third act. You can't get cat 1 seating at any time on the dining plan - we were cat 3 and the kids could not see at all and the adults could only catch glimpses but it was a very obstructed view with everyone's heads in the way. The food was okay, and they brought the kids hot doga and pizza as our kids would not touch any of the food served. I highly suggest the Hoop de Doo instead also, the show is sooo funny and the food is 100% better!
