Spirit of Aloha?

Please someone tell me if you've been to the Spirit of Aloha and enjoyed it. I just made an ADR for it the night before we leave and it used two dining credits. The pics of the food look good and the idea of beer and wine included in the dinner sounded great!

We have done it twice and really enjoyed it!

We've done it and to us, it was just okay. We think the HDDR is a much better dinner show (entertainment and food-wise).

We have done it a couple times and enjoyed it. Just depends on what your looking for. We still love the HDDR the best though!

We did it for the first time in September and we loved it. We thought the food was great, as well as the show .

We did the dinner/show last October and enjoyed it. DH and I loved the food. The kids thought the food was OK, except the salad. But then again, they don't like salad at home! The show is a little dorky in the beginning, but when the dancing starts it is wonderful. And the fire dancer was the kids favorite. We will be doing this again when we are there in June.

I prefer Hoop Dee Doo Revue over the Spirit of Aloha. The luau is a good show but I didn't really care for the food. At the HDDR i really enjoyed the show and the food. Very good fried chicken and ribs. And all the beer you can drink here as well.

We have also done both the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show and The HDDR twice...My fave is the Spirit of Aloha....hubby's is the HDDR! I love the actuall fire dancers and the hula dancers!! Have a great time either way!!

I have done it twice. Love it....I guess it depends on what you want. I have also done HDDR twice and it was only okay to me.
Love the island theme is one reason.
I thought the food was very good. We sure didn't go away hungry

Sorry, but our experience with SoA was so bad, it became a joke that anytime something was bad on our trip, it was "So Spirit of Aloha". Service was awful (didn't refill drinks, never spoke to us, dropped a glass near our exposed feet and never apologized, barely picked up pieces, and never offered us a towel or anything, spilled a second drink and never apologized), the show was awful, the food was bleh.

LOVED HDDR! Hoop Dee Doo was a highlight of our trip, and we are doing it again this December! Superior food, service, and show!

Hoping for good service at SoA because as for HDDR I'm really not a fan of fried chicken(it's crazy I know!) and my dd doesn't like ribs(my dbf is the only one who would enjoy that menu,but shhh he doesn't need to know lol) So again the reviews sound mixed but we have our ADR's in for SOA and fingers crossed! Thanks for all the feedback!

You do know that it's chicken and ribs at SoA as well, right? Just baked chicken instead.

The sides at HDDR were better and heartier, in our opinions. A big pile of potatoes and beans. YUM!

My DD (15) asked me today if we would be going back to SoA during our upcoming trip. She is picky but enjoyed the food. We went in 06 and I thought the food was very good and we had a great server.
I wouldn't mind going back but we will be doing CRT instead since we haven't been.
