We just went a few days ago.
We thought the food and show were great. We have a 7 yr old daughter who loves shows and dance, so it was very interesting to her. I suspect that in general girls will like the show more than boys, but most adults should enjoy it.
When you are seated the salad and bread are waiting. The bread is yummy as is the salad dressing. There is a brief opening for the show, a little hokey, but demonstrating a modernized view of Ohana (family). Beer and wine are included in the price.
Then the platter of fried rice, vegetables, chicken and ribs comes out. All were good. You can ask for extras of anything.
The show resumes, with a series of traditional costume and dance demonstrations from all over Polynesia. The fire dancer is the finale.
Be warned that the late show gets out at 10:20. The Magic Kingdom was open late for a P&P Party so we were able to monorail over and get a bus back to the Boardwalk. If MK had closed at 8pm as other nights, it would have been a late late night taking a bus to DTD and then back to Boardwalk.. actually we would have sprung for a taxi I think.
Also, be careful booking a late show during a
free dining period! Our show was at risk of being canceled as scattered storms passed all day and evening. If it were canceled, we'd be stuck at 8:30pm trying to find a decent meal and no restaurants had openings anywhere nearby. It would have been burgers and fries at Captain Hooks... a very unsatisfying alternative!
