Just booked our November trip and naturally 'Ohana is booked up. I hate free dining, it makes it impossible to book our faves. Well, I was able to book SOA,first time ever for us. Any recent reviews you're willing to share?

Really, could you provide a link or a thread title?

We've done SOA twice with our kids, the second time thinking we'd like it more. Just not impressed. The food is pretty good, and the fire twirler is AMAZING, but the show itself is cheesy and my kids get bored. I'd keep calling for O'Hana!

We went to SOA a few years back. The food was good and parts of the show were good, but the storyline of the show is pretty cheesy.

The food at Ohana was soooo good. Favorite meal of our trip by far. Keep trying.

Oh, it was free :cool1:

The food at SOA is good. We like it. It's a fried rice, ribs, chicken, salad and bread and I love the dessert. The kids eat the same food unless you request a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. My kids just eat the regular food. We do like 'Ohana better. We love the 'Ohana atmosphere. SOA is nice, but we just find the storylike to be a bit cheesy. The traditional dances are nice. We did SOA the past two years. Since nothing has changed, we are not doing it again for a while. We want to try something else and we really didn't like taking so much time away from the parks.

the thing that always concerned me about SOA is the weather. too stormy,e tc. and it could be cancelled.

if you are paying OOP. ok, I guess you get a refund. but, on the DDP. now you have 2TS credits to fill, at thelast minute! (and, no, a suggestion I heard on another thread, I am not wasting 2 TS credits to eat room service in my room)
if it wasn't for that, I would have tried it by now. (hubby's not a big fan of pork and veggies, so that was the deal breaker). we always fall back on hoop de doo (which I love)

We did SOA in 2007 and thought the food was very good and the show was ok, with the fire dancers being awesome at the end :thumbsup2. It's not something we would do every year, but we would consider doing it again on a future trip :goodvibes.

Have a little time now to fill in the blanks :) we have been steady Disney visitors since our girls were almost one and almost three. They are now 14 and 16. Often multiple trips per year. 'Ohana is a tradition with us. In the past year or so it has been impossible to book as we do not book our trips more than 90 days out. This time the only time available for our three nights onsite is 9:40 pm, way too late for us. Then I started looking at SOA, menu looks good, similar food. No worries about fidgety kids, they'll just be texting, BBMing and FBing to kill boredom. Your positive food reviews and the fact that it's something new for us after all these years and visits, takes away some of the sting from the almost $300 charged to my debit card today! :)

Hi again,

I didn't mean to be short with my earlier reply but was posting from my phone so sorry I didn't give you the link. Here is the post you might find helpful. There were a lot of reviews. Hope you have a good trip and enjoy the luau.

Understand, I'm usually on an iPad now and it likes to choose my words for me  . I was hoping for what I've received over the course of the day. We don't do DDP so I booked tier 1, figure it's about what it would cost us to add a day to our hoppers and this is something we've never done in ALL OUR VISITS, plus, it's close to the GF. With MK closing early for the party that night we'd have to hop after driving 6.5 hours that day, and there's no Emh evening offered that night. This way we get to relax, the girls can hit the pool if they like and we ger an earlier dinner than the 9:40 at 'Ohana.
