Which show should we do?

The Spirit of Aloha or Hoop-Dee-Doo?

Any reviews, advice, tips, etc?

There will be 7 of us total, 4 adults, 3 kids (21 months, 4 years & 6 years old).

Should we do one, or both (hee hee hee)? :Pinkbounc

No one in our party has ever done either show, and we want something fun, good food & entertaining for us all.

I've never been to the Spirit of Aloha, but it doesn't get too many good reviews here on the boards. The Hoop Dee Doo however gets lots of great reviews. I've been once and we all had a great time. We're going again in a couple weeks, can't wait!

We have done the Spirit of Aloha (last Oct.) and it was okay- not great! We were staying at the Poly! We are planning on doing HDDR in March! We have a ds (7 almost 8) and he liked the fire dancer at the SOA best. Also, we were able to get him a kids meal of chicken nuggets, mac n chesse, etc. which he ate fine. But, we were not that impressed with the show!! I'm hoping we will enjoy HDDR a lot more! :jumping4:

The food is good at both.. but our kids were bored to tears at the Luau and were praying for it to end.

Hoop Dee Doo, on the other hand is a fun night :)

IMHO the food is much better at the Luau - but the HDD's show is more entertaining. We've done both and really don't plan to do either again any time soon.

If you're just looking for some fun - you could save a bundle of money and do a character meal, or a restaurant with craziness - like the Whispering Canyon.

WE loved everything about HDD. We only liked the fire thrower at the Luau. The food was terrible there.

Another vote for the Hoop-Dee-Doo. It is on our "must do" list each trip.

We did the luau and enjoyed it. Food was nice and we liked the show too. However, we would have liked it a LOT more if we had seats closer to the center. We were towards the back and way to the left and had a hard time seeing everything with servers moving back and forth and people milling out of their seats. Have not see HDDR yet, but have it on our agenda for the next trip.

Ive been to both when I was young. I liked the Spirit of Aloha. I remember thinking the HDDR was kind of weird.

I have done both and definately prefer "The Hoop."
