Hi,

We're scheduled to fly Spirit for our next WDW trip. They show this web checkin where you can pick a seat 90 days in advance and print a boarding pass 45 days in advance of the flight. What I'm wondering: can you do this and still check bags at the airport? Any other experiences with this airline would be appreciated as well, since this is a first (we always use UAL), and I know nothing about them except that they have a good safety record...

Thanks,

Marc

We always use Spirit to go to WDW. We get our tix online, but have never gotten seating/boarding passes online. There is always that line you have to wait in to check bags and get passes. I would assume that if you already have your boarding passes that you will still need to check your bags. Good luck and have a great time.

Another Spirit newbie here. I've been looking at airfares from the NY area to Orlando for our trip next May (wed to wed including Memorial Day weekend) and I just pulled the trigger (clicked the mouse) on Spirit. The best Delta/Song rates right now are between $204 and $225. Not bad, and I'm sure they may come down.....but I don't like to have things hanging. Southwest and Jetblue are probably at least a month away from releasing June dates, and I'd have to wait for them to have a "sale"...........more hanging. Spirit out of LaGuardia was available for $143.00 r/t (including all taxes and fees.) That is as good a rate as I'll ever snag on Song/SW/JB (probably better), the flight times are perfect, there have been good reviews of Spirit on this board, a guy I work with has had positive experiences with Spirit, the safety record is there.............lots of reasons to go for it, so I did.

So. Anyone have specific experience with Spirit out of LGA?

 I just used spirit this past september to Disneyworld. The trip to the airport was the worst part ( a little traffic on the TZ bridge)..other than that the airline was very good ! If you book the reservation from the airline web site, keep checking the rates daily.I got our RT fare of $125.00. It was 20 dollars higher per person when I first booked it, and they sent me 60 dollars back in vouchers to use within a year.....Cant beat that....good luck neighbor,, P.S....I got my seat assignment on line but I had trouble Printing my boarding passes ( the ticket counter line was very short and was done in about 5 minutes) Hope this helps!

Dear DisneyDiva58:

About the price difference: You stated the price went down and you were able to receive some vouchers. Do you mean that you contacted Spirit Airlines and mentioned that the price went down and that you wanted to rebook? If so, I didn't know we could do that.

Right now, the price is up from when I purchased tickets for our April date. Still, it would be good to know about this option and how to exercise it, if the price does drop. Are there certain terms and conditions?

It's so good to hear all the good news about this airline. This will be our first trip to WDW and our first trip on Spirit.

I can relate to DisneyKidss not wanting to hang on waiting for a deal. That's exactly what we did even though it was tempting. We are traveling on 4/24 which is on the cusp of Eastertime. It just seemed better to have something firm as we were planning.
