Spirit Airlines?

Spirit Airlines has a pretty decent fare for my trip from Boston to MCO. Problem is, I can't find a SINGLE person who's ever flown with them. Does anyone have any input that might be helpful? I'll take the good, the bad, and the ugly if you have it!

We flew from ATL to MCO back in 2007, and last month we flew ATL to FTL for a cruise. Spirit has it's pros and cons. A big con that many folks have with Spirit is the nickel and diming that makes their ultra-low-cost fare more costly. Now they are charging for carry-ons that go in the overhead bins. I belive it's $45/bag at the gate or $30 in advance. It's much cheaper to just check your bags at $25/bag or $19 in advance. Advanced seat assignments can range from $7 - $25 per seat/trip. Spirit's service is sometimes lacking. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, there are not a lot of options as Spirit doesn't have any interline agreements with other airlines. I know this makes Spirit sound like a dud, but if you just want to get from point A to point B for a low cost, they often beat the competition.

We flew them back in 2008. The staff was very friendly, the seats were fine. It was just a basic flight, no issues and we would fly them again.

We fly them every time we go to WDW and have never had a problem. Our flights have always been non-stop and on time. Matter of fact, we just booked our Spirit airfare, for our Sept WDW vacation, this past Friday. We got a great price, but then we belong to the $9 club and will get discounts on checked baggage. We never take a large carry-on, so that fee would not apply to us.
