Has anyone ever flown Spirit Air? I found a cheapish fare and I wonder if its worth the savings from flying Jetblue-
Thanks!

i have used spirit air lots of times they have no frills such as tv's or anything but the flights have been on time at least 95% of the time from chicago to orlando

I have flown them a few times out of DTW. They fly some MD80s and some of them do NOT have enough overhead space to put a roller bag, so be sure to pack a small carryon. Twice I had to gate check a roller on SPIRIT when on other planes it fits fine!

We fly spirt every time (sometimes a few times a year.) and we never had a problem.

In fact we perfer Spirit.

Don't know about the carry on, I never bring big welled ones, but check them instead.

I just flew SPIRIT this past october. It was great!! I loved being able to upgrade to first class (spirit plus) at the podium for 35 dollars!! It was well worth it for me.
I brough on a roller bag (max size for North West) and it fit just fine. I don't know if it was becuase I was Spirit Plus but no one said a thing. My fiance and I both carried on rollers and another bag (back pack for him and a small duffle for me).
I am looking foward to flying spirit anytime I can

We had a great flight attendant Barb who was very witty, she even sang a song! She joked around a buch and was all around wonderful! It was awesome!

I think the issue with SPIRIT is if you get one of the older MD80s. The slope of the overhead won't take the rollers. On a flight in 2004 from Denver to DTW, they were making all pax check the rollers when you checked in for your flight. Lucky for me, I had a small tote in the bag that I removed and put my meds and make up in.

Last June on a flight from DTW to MCO, I had to gate check my roller.

We fly spirit all the time. I prefer it. But i ususally go with who is cheapest. spirit you can pick your seats at booking.

We fly Spirit out of Atlantic City. It is very convenient and less congested than Philadelphia. I have been checking on prices for next August since there are 8 of us but it is very expensive right now.

I just got tickets for our December trip on Expedia from Phila to Orlando at $120 round trip. Can't beat that.

Spirit is the best kept secret in NJ...! I dont fly anyone else. My SIL is one of their flight attendents and that helps.. :cool1:
