Spirit Air DTW-MCO

After spending weeks monitoring airline prices for our trip in September, I quickly booked Spirit Airlines after finding SW prices to have jumped on the weekend (they have since plummeted! ) I then decided to read reviews on Spirit Air after booking our non-refundable flights....... BAD IDEA! After reading MANY MANY reviews I am terrified of the instances where flights were cancelled due to lack of staff/mechanical problems/no reason, and horror stories of passengers stranded with no other way due to terrible customer service. I have made myself very aware of all baggage fees/ am aware that this is a VERY "bare bones" airline, but was wondering of others experiences flying out of DTW- MCO. Basically I am trying desperately to stop PANICKING!!! Thanks for all the help!

I have not used Spirit to fly to Florida yet, but have used them several times to Las Vegas, I was nervous also after all the bad reviews but our flight has alway been in time. Any airline has the chance of getting delayed/cancelled.

I did the same thing from Pittsburgh. Fretted for days, etc. It was the most smooth trip we ever had. Easy, polite employees, wonderful...and we travel a lot! Hopefully it will be great for you, too.

We used to fly Spirit all the time before they started charging fees for everything but breathing.
Dtw is our home airport, so we actually flew your route.
We never had any flight problems in all the times we used Spirit.

I know there are a lot of bad reviews out there, but most of them are written by people who are disgruntled about the unexpected fees they encountered after not reading about them before booking.
I'm not saying there aren't legitimate complaints, but every airline has them.
We never had a flight cancelled with Spirit, or any other airline for that matter.

I would not worry too much about it, if I were you.
The more you anticipate a problem, the more likely you are to get worked up about something minor that may happen.

You've purchased the tickets, so just go with the flow.
Chances are, your flight will be fine.
If it isn't, realize that things can happen no matter what airline you use.
