Spinoff: Your family’s first streaming device.

i'm LATE to the game-we could'nt effectivly stream up until 2021:scared1:. until we got starlink in our area any attempts were watch a couple minutes then buffer, buffer, buffer...............till you gave up trying to watch. we had several device that could in theory stream but the means was (still are absent starlink) not available.

Thank goodness for linear TV I guess…

I did'nt realize we were 'spoiled' on tv till we moved to an area where there's no cable, antenna's don't work (well...some neighbors can use them to some degree depending on the topography surrounding their homes) and bad weather mucks with satellite services (though I must say that Dish has fewer problems than DirecTV).

I have Dish and their trick when there are issues with satellite reception is the system automatically switches to streaming.

I believe it was one of our old Sony PlayStations that was our first. I recall toggling past the various game options on a menu to get to things like Netflix. I know a tv with an embedded Roku was our second (as well as our third) and something with Fire was the fourth. Personally, I am still a fan of Roku. We still have a couple of Roku tvs as well as a standalone that DD19 uses on a "dumb tv."

I used Netflix to stream before they broke it into 2 with streaming being separate than DVD's by mail. But never paid for Netflix streaming on it's own, expect for one month a few years ago.

I got Hulu in 2021 I think and had that as my main streaming ever since.

Well, I mena, my PC has been able to do it for a while. I didn't really fool with specific devices much until I was trying ot watch Netflix on my Wii. It didn't work all that well though.
