When someone posts a link in their post I just get a general "Loading" with spinning dots showing. Why?

The link still works even if it's spinning. When posting a link, you can click on the chain icon on your toolbar and create a clean link.

I know it still works, but it used to actually show a bit of the link in the post before clicking on it. It's not just the links I post, but the links anyone else posts. I don't have any control on those.

This is a problem since January 2021. I even did the debugging to determine the issue. Wheoever is in charge of fixing these things either is too busy or can't figure it out.

It's probably an issue with a setup where a load balance is being used with multiple app servers where the balancer runs under SSL and the app servers run under HTTP (which is a common setup). The board software thinks the software is running under HTTP, causing a security error. Maybe adding the x-forward-proto header with a value of https between the load balancer and the app servers will fix this. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/X-Forwarded-Proto

A bit ironic...the DVC show from 2/7/22 ends with a plea to DVC to "fix the damn website already"...
