I am going on the Wonder this week, and I want to keep up with my fitness routine while away. I saw they have a morning cycle class. Anyone try it? How is it? Do you have to reserve your spot in advance or show up early for a bike?
Also, how is the boot camp class if anyone has tried it?
Thanks! Getting super excited :)

Hubby did a spin class on the Dream a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. He had to sign up ahead of time, and was told when he did so that the classes fill up rather quickly. So if you think you want to participate, get your name down ASAP.

I was very disappointed with the spin classes lately. In the past they were held in the morning and you would sign up in advance. On the last two sailings they weren't held as often and they were scheduled at 5pm. When I complained that it conflicted with main dinner I was told it ended at 5:45 and I could head to dinner. Had no desire to go to dinner sweaty in gym clothes.

We (friend and I) took the 4-session boot camp series 2yrs ago. I enjoyed it and felt it was a good workout (though I highly doubt the caloric burn the trainers claimed) and it was spendy. We both agreed it made us push ourselves more than if we'd just come into the gym on our own.

I considered repeating on our cruise last year but did not as previously I was unhappy with timing conflicts (one workout started before our character breakfast had finished so I had to leave DH with the kids, another workout was held at the same time as Tea with Alice and again DH manned the kids solo).

I do believe if there is space a available they allow a drop in option.

Thanks! I guess I will look into it when I get onboard. I would not be happy with a 5pm class either! The navigators I have seen seem to have it at 830am.

We did a spin class on the Fantasy. They were offered at 4pm on sea days only. The sign ups were done in the morning for each day. You had to go back each morning to sign up.

I like the setup on the Wonder better than the Fantasy. The bikes are set up facing the water at the front of the ship on the Wonder. We didn't take the class on the Wonder. We just went there and did the bikes on our own.

They do have a cycle class, and it can be a terrifying experience. I remember it as if it were yesterday. I had just finished my usual mild workout, when on the way out I passed a group cycling. The leader encouraged me to join in - and foolishly I did. Next thing you know I was trapped on a bike - cycling endlessly - sweating - exhausted..... It was way too much exercise a mere mortal. I can only imagine the horrors of a fitness boot camp.....

I got all excited when I saw this, until I saw the 830 am and 5 pm! :( Is this also an extra charge to take it?? If so, I might just organize a PT session with my hubby and see who else wants to join us, maybe we can do a little impromptu WO. ha ha, I can see it now, DH: "You want me to train people while on vacation?!" ha ha!!!

I got the impression it was free?? I sure hope so. They are only 30 min classes. Not the normal 60 min that typical gyms offer.

They did not charge me for the ordeal they put me through. Whether it was because I got pulled in after the class had started, or because it was free for everyone, I couldn't say.

There are no additional charges for the spin/cycle classes.

Our class on the Fantasy was almost an hour, definitely not 30 minutes.
