Newbie here! How easy is it to split your stay between resorts. I had to split my stay between the Poly and AOA to get the RO discount.
  • 4 Nights Poly
  • 4 Nights AOA
I am just concerned with the logistics of it all. I was assurred that it's pretty easy. Any pointers out there?

Hi. We have done spilt stays ( DVC ). I can say It worked out fine for us with luggage bit. They take it to the next resort for you. We have always enjoyed spilt stays. Two vacations in one! We were nervous at first now we do it every time.

As the PP mentioned, Disney will move your luggage for you and there's no need to lose any park time doing it. On the morning you move, call bell services at the Poly and have them pick up your bags and let them know you are moving to AoA. Head out to a park for the day, then hop on a bus to AoA. Once you get your room at AoA, call for your bags.

Something to note: Your luggage will likely not arrive at AoA until late afternoon, so if there is anything you think you may need during the day, carry it with you to the park.

It works fine!

Tip bell services before and after. Splurge on a taxi if you need to go straight to the other resort or hit a park and then "return" to the new resort. Some like to pack bags based upon resort so they only unpack once per resort (doesn't really work for us but worth considering). And I like to plan more resort time at the better resort and more park time at the lesser resort in a split such as yours.

I was nervous too the first time we did this (Poly to BC) but it went really smoothly.

We are early risers, so by 7 am on our transfer day we were all packed up and ready to go. Called bell services from our room and they showed up in about 5 minutes.

Then, we had a quick breakfast at Captain Cook's, walked over to the TTC and jumped on the Epcot Monorail, stayed in the park until about 3 pm, and then walked over to the BC.

After check in at BC, we called bell services and the luggage was delivered to our room about 15 minutes later.

We spent most of the first half of the vacation (Poly leg) around MK and most of the second half (BC leg) around EP/HS so it worked out beautifully (we had connecting rooms with my parents and they still talk about what a great vacation it was).

I am not sure how easy it is but we are going to try it in November. We will have a car, so we plan to drive our luggage from WL to the Swan. Leave our luggage with Bell Services and head to Epcot. Hopefully our room will be ready by the time we return to the resort. My only fear is that we will get tired at Epcot and return to Swan after lunch and the room wont be ready.

Good plan. Since the Swan is not Disney-owned, I'm not certain Disney would transfer your luggage from WL to the Swan anyway. If you tire out at EPCOT before the 3pm check-in time at the Swan and your room still isn't ready, I'm sure you could find a comfy couch in the lobby area to relax on.
