So I'm sitting in bed reading a book, and a icky spider comes walking across the blankets - I freaked - threw the covers off and jumped out of bed. DH continues sleeping like nothing happened. So I can't find the icky spider, so I go to sleep on the couch.

I look up at the ceiling and there's ANOTHER ONE! I woke up DH to come and kill it, because if he didn't, I wouldn't sleep at all. Well, guess what? I still can't sleep - I'm afraid there's going to be more.

I have been known to vaccuum up the little suckers. (and duct tape the hose so they can't get back out. ;) )

I hope you were able to sleep some.

I'd be freaked too. But like deb, I vacuum them up if they are too big to just kill.

The title of this thread crack me up, like the spiders are sitting there nudging you saying, "Hey, hey whatcha doing now? Want to play cards or something?" :p

LOL Saffron. Now I have this image in my head too. Little spiders in ball caps (of all things) dealing cards and playing poker. Hee hee hee

Well, I laid on the couch watching TV until I felt really tired. I then got up the courage to turn off the light (you know spiders LOVE the dark, so that was difficult) and fall asleep. But the first thing this morning, I went on a spider hunt. That one that crawled over me in bed is still a fugitive - he might even be armed and dangerous!

And if he even THINKS about asking me to play cards, he's history!;)

I swear I live in arachnophobia house or something, there's ALWAYS spiders! I saw one in my bathroom the other night - HUGE - and of course I started arbitrarily throwing things at it until it finally gave up and died, and of course my cat was in there with me freaking out wanting to get in on the action. It's been like 3 days and she still goes in there looking for that spider, she's a little huntress that one.

HATE BUGS HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM

My cat enjoys spiders too. Unfortunately, he likes to play with them before he kills them, which often results in the spider getting away by crawling into a crack or something. Then where are they??? They are rotten little creepy things. If we all killed at least one spider a day, we would only have 30 billion spiders left on Earth. It's our duty.;)

Spiders are no laughing matter. I got bit while lying in bed by a Brown Recluse. In less than 3 hours I had a huge saucer sized raised red welt on the back of my leg. It hurt like hell. I went to the doctor and he knew immediately what is was. He said that I was very lucky to come in right away before any tissue damage had been done. He had one patient who waited a whole week and ended losing a chunk out of her shin and had to have a skin graft after a week stay in the hospital!

TURNING TAG FAIRY FILTER ON :p

He said that they prefer quiet, cold, dark places, with no activity so he was surprised I got bit. I was embarrassed to admit that he had described my bedroom to a "T". :o :p

Well, don't spiders eat other bugs??? I've heard that that's why they are so essential to the ecosystem, b/c if they weren't around to eat billions and billions of other bugs, we'd REALLY be in big trouble.

My cat likes to play with em too, that's why I took matters into my own hands and threw magazines at it :op

I'm glad you were able to get treatment right away Pete's Mom. Those brown recluse spiders are horrible.
