Hi Gang,
We're booked on a western in December. I read in a recent post about large spiders in Cozumel. Can anyone share any more of their arachnid experiences? I mean how large? As big as the large as a Florida Brown House spider, 6 inch in diameter? Not that I'm fond of them, in fact VERY MUCH the opposite. I figure that the more I know the better. We've been to Cozumel on DCL before but have just been in town. I would hate to become a raving lunatic on our shore excursion. We were going to do the 4x4 jungle drive. It's fine that they're in the jungle with me just as long as I can't see'em. I totally freak at a close up sighting, "It's tough to be a bug" nearly killed me and I knew what was coming and didn't look! Please help!! Knowledge is Power!

I'm pretty sure Tarantula's are native to Cozumel. Not sure how likely you are to see one though....

I understand that the brown barking spider is quite common in places where there is lots of Mexican food, so I assume Cozumel would be included.

I was just in Cozumel last week at Paradise Beach. I didn't notice any spiders, then again I wasn't looking for them.

I thought it was hilarious, especially since I had Mexican yesterday. I started to comment on their green cousins but I thought it would take things too far! (oops too late!)

WE went to Cozumel last year on NCL and went to Chaukanaub Park we didn't see any spiders but lots of Lizards!!!!
