We are going to Universal for the first time. I have been told not to miss Spiderman but....not everyone in my family likes rides. My dd (12) is very scary on some rides (won't do coaster of fast moving rides). She is happy on spaceship earth type rides. Will Spiderman be too much or it just a fun type ride that she shouldn't miss?

Thanks
Karen

She will most likely be fine. Since it is a 3D ride, if she gets overwhelmed, she can just take the glasses off and the ride becomes much less interactive. The vehicle itself really doesn't move quickly, it just seems that way with the special effects and the 3D.

The end of the ride may be a bit much for her.... she sounds a lot like my mom. My mom's favorite ride is the People Mover (do they even still call it that?!). My mom had to close her eyes twice during Soaring! Not sure if you've been on that yet, but it's really pretty tame compared to Spiderman....

I really don't want to give much away, but she really make not like the end of the ride after the part of the ride that says "You're taking a dive." It can be a little overwhelming for a first time rider who is a bit afraid of rides to begin with. She may want to close her eyes for that part.

My best suggestion would be to have a few members of your party who know her well ride first to see if she can handle it.

Have fun. Spidey is my favorite ride!

our DD who is 12 wont go on coasters either. However, she loved Spiderman! We went on it 3 times.

Have Fun.

The good thinkg about Spiderman is she can just close her eyes if any part bothers her. It's the best ride ever.

My 6 year old daughter loves it but gets scared sometimes so she just takes her glasses off and she is fine. It is not that intense, just a few rough spins and turns.

Good morning! Use the child swap if you are unsure and ride it yourself first. Good luck and have fun! :cheer2:

This was "hands down" our favorite ride on our 2003 trip. FUN!! I think your 12 yr old daughter will be fine on it and probably love it.

My mom HATES thrill rides. She doesn't like anything that spins, swoops, or drops! However, she loves Spiderman. She gets motion-sickness very easily, but the ride didn't bother her at all. It really isn't that bad. The car moves around on a track, so there aren't any sensory issues (like on simulators). You do get thrown around a bit, but it's nothing too extreme.

My DS10 is not a coaster guy - he'll do the Flying Unicorn once in a while. But he absolutely loves Spiderman. It's one of our favorite rides in the parks. The first time he went on it, I believe he was 7. I think she can handle it!

LEAVING TOMORROW - I CAN'T GET ANY WORK DONE TODAY!!:surfweb:
