We're at Art of Animation right now (checked in Sunday, leaving today) and we had our 1 park day yesterday at the Magic Kingdom.
Does anyone have any questions about MK crowds this week?
Regarding the Magic Bands, we didn't mind them. The kids, in particular, were thrilled to have their own colour bands, and learned quickly how to use them. The only issues that we had were that after checking into the hotel, we had to try each of the bands on the room door more than once, to make sure that they turned the light green and opened the room door. Took an extra 2 minutes. After that, no problems.
Since we have young kids (4yrs & 7yrs), we appreciated not having to run around the park to collect FPs, even though we've successfully collected lots of FPs that way in the past. Our kids don't expect to go on rides multiple times, so we didn't have that disappointment with the 3 FP limit. We got there at RD, and did everything we wanted to do by 3:30pm. After that, we watched the castle show, spent a long time exploring Tom Sawyer's Island, rode the whole railroad and did some shopping before supper and the evening entertainment.
We skipped the attractions below, by choice, but would have had time to fit in a few more.
Tiki Room
Monsters Inc
Stitch
Country Bears
Hall of a Presidents
Carousel of Progress
Liberty Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle
During the day, we also met Rapunzel & Snow White (just after RD) and Tinkerbell and Rosetta (after the fireworks). We saw the early parade (we lucked into a great front row spot just minutes before the parade started), and a bit of the late parade as we were leaving.
Crowds didn't seem to get busy until after lunch, and even then they weren't crazy. The stroller parking and FP+ kiosk lines seemed to make things look worse than they were. We didn't wait more than 25 minutes for anything (only for Pirates and to meet the fairies), and most things we're walk-on for us, or we used our FP+. We had finished Fantastyland by 10:30, except for our Peter Pan FP+.
We didn't have any trouble changing things on the fly using the FP+ kiosks, and the line moved very quickly at the Tomorrowland kiosks, though the line looked daunting. The MDE app crashed once, in mid-afternoon, but worked later in the afternoon. We successfully used Rider Swap for Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.
Any questions?
