Spending money?

Hi all,
This is going to be our 1st trip to wdw, we are a family of 6 kids are 15, 14, 12, 10 yrs and will be going for 21 days from 12th July, we are staying in a villa.

Can anyone offer any advice on spending money?
We need a ball park figure of approx what to take with us?

We have booked and paid for our park tickets so i'm just stuck on how much we should allow for meals & drinks through out the day, planning on eating out mostly although breakfast will be at the villa.

Any other tips you could offer would be greatly appreicated!

Wow--21 days...I'm jealous My advice would be to book some major dining events such as Hoop De Do and Ohanas; get a PS for Sci Fi at MGM for sure. You will love this one of a kind eatery. Then do as many meals at the Villa as possible.
You should go on allearsnet.com and search around for the costs of counter service and sit downs to determine how much you'll need to feed the hungry crew. It won't be pretty. Keep in mind that snacks can run as high as $4.99 for one item.
As far as souveniers or the like, our teens now look around and don't make a purchase until we've been at all the Parks and DTD. The Disney store carries about everything you'll see at the Parks and if you have annual passes, you can get 10% off your purchases there (you can upgrade to APs from whatever you have now). APs are also good for meal discounts so that may be a way to save each time you spend. I don't know if you are Disney VISA holders, but if you are you accumulate bonus bucks that can be turned into dollars before your trip and then spend them anywhere. That's basically a free-bie. I'm going to ball park your need at $7000 with grocery purchases. We've never detailed down to any extent on our spending money, but in total we spend about $5000 (not counting resort fee or airfare) for an 11 day trip with no restrictions on spending.
