Spelling Bees.

So Today I went to City Bee.
I laughed the whole time. It was more fun than a spelling be should be.

I got 5th place at school.
I got 7th place at city.
So this means i'll be going to County.

Anyone else do/have done spelling bees? How well did ya'll do?

The good thing about spelling bees at my school is you miss like 2 periods for the School bee. And then at the city bee you miss like 4 periods and go to Pizza hut for the buffet lunch!

I was in my school spelling bee this year & last.

I got 4th place both times

I also won the Vocabulary bee for my school/grade, so I went to state (on the computer- i don't know how I did yet.)

We had our first this year, but I've never been in one.
The girl who won our school one went on to win the districts.

We dont have spelling bees at my school.

We have them at my school. And I got out on my first word...it was pathetic. I can't spell out loud. I spelled "magnolias" "magnoilas". But somewhere on the 7th round, someone got the word "polka". I kid you not.

I'm in them every year. Twice I've won went on to regionals. Never got very far in them.

I've kinda let it go now.

I'm not the smartest enyclopedia in the library...

i did, however, get second in the geography bee in fifth grade.

I got in one, did badly out of the 20 people though . But then again, the lady had a southern accent I couldn't understand and I was up against older kids too

This year (6th grade) I got 5th out of 30 poeple, most of them 7th and 8th graders.

CONGRATULATIONS! Nope I've never done any spelling bees really. We had one in school, but the teacher stood in fron of the class read words and we wrote them down, and whoever did the best in the school did a competiton outside of school and that was in like 8th grade?
I suck at spelling!

yep. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. i missed ''glad'' in 2nd grade so i was out. in 3rd grade i got 3rd place and 4th grade i got 2nd!

5th grade -- 1st for school, then like 10th for city, I was the youngest there and the first word I had to spell was Botany... I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS AN A IN THE MIDDLE!

6th -- purposly spelled words wrong just so i didn't have to be in it anymore...
