speical socks?

Somewhere on the DIS, I read about these special socks that prevent blisters and absorb sweat, I'm not that sure about them becuase I wasn't considering buying them at the time but now I want to look into them can anyone help with what kind of socks these were?

They have cool max socks at Target. They wick away sweat from your feet. I actyally likeall pro gold toes cotton. Thye are not cool max but I have not had blisters since I started wearing them. I use to blister awful while at Disney but the last few times I have worn these and no blisters. Of course I also read on these boards to use duct tape in the places you usually get blisters started doing that at the same time. These socks can also be found at Target.

The cool max is probably what you read about though.

There are a number of brands of socks (and underwear) that use polyacrylic type materials that absorb and wick away moisture. Cool Max is just one trademark for the material that many manufacturers use.

We prefer the Thorlo brand socks that are not only wicking, but they have different styles for different activities, including walking. Basically they add padding in areas that are 'harder hit' for that type of activity. They're all I wear now...for both work and play.

Cotton, once wet, stays wet and compacts. You not only lose the cushioning effect, but blisters develop because of 1) heat, 2) friction 3) moisture.

They're not cheap at $8.00-9.00 per pair, but then again, they make me happy and since I only need to own 3 pairs of shoes to fit any occasion, I can splurge once a year and buy 10 new pairs of socks.

On the subject on Coolmax - I have on a Coolmax bra by Hanes. I couldn't tell you if it "wicks away sweat" since I haven't done anything in it to make me sweat.
I feels good though.

For my last WDW trip I bought moisture wicking socks by Danskin at Walmart. They were 2-3$ and I liked them so much I wore them alot. They were nice and thick and cushy. Next trip I will buy a few more pairs. They were in the women's sock department, not in the sporting goods section.

My wife's feels good too. She even likes they feel and find them very supportive since most are geared toward athletics. Won't wear anything else in the heat of the summer

They are a very nice company - I called them to determine what socks to buy and what size to buy.

They are selling 'overstocks' - when you buy the grabbag. I bought the CUSH grabbag for 19.95 for six pairs of ankle high socks.

I like the socks - and were them most days I wear tennis shoes.
