Hi there

I'm so excited to go on this ride but I'm concerned about my youngest who is 7. She has only tried the Barnstormer ride and she was NOT a fan. She wont dare try big thunder.

I just heard someone say the 7 dwarfs mine was way faster than they thought it would be.

Can someone who has been on this ride please comment.

Is it fast or sharp turning like Barnstormer? Is it comparable to Big Thunder? How fast is it?

Thanks so much!

Its a little faster than Barnstormer in my opinion but much smoother. Honestly, car rides on the interstate are more "thrilling". About a 3rd of the ride goes very slow through the mine scene where you look at the animatronics.

Not to sound harsh, but this is about as tame as they get in terms of coasters. A 7 year old should have really have no issues with it :confused3

I am not a coaster person, and this ride was great! The fastest part was the flatter banking turns. The hills were pretty slow. We rode it four times, and DS10 thought it was much better than the Barnstormer. Have fun!

DD, 8 , is not a fan of BTMRR, but she loves Barnstormer. She actually thought the last part of 7DMT was too slow. To us, it felt slower than either of the other coasters. It is unlike BTMRR and Barnstormer, in that it is not consistently roller coaster type fast, it alternates between slower and faster parts. It goes slow through the mine area. DD on the whole is not always crazy about thrill rides, and she really likes it.

I road in the rear and thought it was feisty. The next ride I asked the CM and she put me in the front car of the next train and it was tame. Nothing like my first ride.

It's very short ride. The story book home and theming is great for the kids. Have them watch for the dwarfs shadows headed to the mines.

I thought it was a very gentle ride. Even my 3x ruptured disk dad rode it and enjoyed the coaster. It is much less jerky than Big Thunder and I did not think it was very fast. No big drops either.

I would say it is a little faster than Barnstormer, but so much smoother than BTMRR. Its over pretty quickly and the slower part through the mine is pretty cool.

The screams (of fun) alone as you approach may be enough to deter a 7 year old that is not sure about riding. I would say that she would enjoy it as it is a very smooth and fun ride, but the challenge will be to get her on. Maybe go to Youtube and show her the ride though? That may help to know ahead of time if she is willing to try it. Good luck.

Ride in the front, it will be slower. I thought it was slower than the barnstormer and definitely smoother. It's like butter.

We're just back and went on 7DMT 5 times during our weeklong stay. Definitely ask for a front seat...it's really, really slow. Sitting in the back, there is more rocking so it feels faster. The front is a snooze-fest.

Being billed as a 'family' coaster, I am very happy to read the reviews about it being a smooth ride, also the advice about riding in the front car. I've always loved coasters, but with a bad neck now, have to seek out 'safer' options. I am so looking forward to the 7DMT. :goodvibes

I'll admit this one was more of a coaster than I thought. I was expecting more of a "kiddie ride" :lmao:

The ride is very smooth. No jerking, bumping etc. The ride seems more like a coaster when it's going up those hills because we know what happens next but this one actually comes off the hill slowly then speeds up coming out of the curve. I would definitely ride this again and I have back and neck issues.

Are there height requirements for this ride? I know the two year old will want to ride this. He is fearless!

The height is 38" for this one. My DS2 just made it on our trip last month and he loved it. Every time the commercial comes on TV he gets all excited. He is fairly tall though.

Thank you! I'll have to measure him

According to Wikipedia, the maximum speed is 55 km/h (34 mph), which is 9 mph/15kmh faster than The Barnstormer, which is 40.2 km/h (25.0 mph).
