I am travelling the week from 8/28 - 9/3, and the only night the Spectro parade will be running is Monday.

I am considering park hopping to MK to see Spectro, and then leaving. The plan would be to catch Wishes a different night.

I have two reasons for this:

1) I was hoping that the bus lines may be shorter with most people staying for Wishes.
2) I know my DD3 will have a hard time staying up past 10pm to see the fireworks. (Other nights during our stay Wishes starts at 9 and even 8:30!!)

Has anyone ever done that?? Does this make sense??? How long is Spectro anyway??

:flower: :flower:

We saw Spectro only our first night ever at WDW last October. We ended up seeing it and then riding Splash Mountain and missing Wishes. We were going to be at WDW for 9 nights total so we knew we would have other opportunites. To see Spectro you need to allow an hour to an hour and a half to get a seat and then it takes maybe 15 minutes for all of the floats to pass you by. If you want to be able to leave the park as early as possible, sit on Main Street since the parade starts there and then progresses into Frontierland. The Main Street sitting fills up fast so do be sure to allow plenty of time to find a seat. Frontierland seating is easier to come by later but that puts you leaving the park later too obviously. As far as buses, you may still have lines after Spectro but nothing like they will be after Wishes is over.

We don't stay for WISHES as my daughter gets panicked at Fireworks, so I see nothing wrong with that at all. or we try to go on rides during them so she doesn't pay attention or watch them from the Poly or GF.

Have a great trip!

See Spectro in Frontierland. That way you won't have to wait an hour and a half to "get a spot." Spectro runs about 20 minutes. After the parade passes, go to the Frontierland railroad station (you may have to wait for service to begin again between Spectro and Wishes) and ride the train back down to the Main Street terminal. Then make your way out of the park. You can see Wishes on another night. There is one cool thing to think about, though - after the final presentation of the evening (Wishes or a second running of Spectro), you will find Mickey on the train platform waving and wishing everyone a good night.

I think any plan that help your child is a good one. We did this very thing last summer. Our DD would not make it to 10 either. Great plan!

Just dont forget to catch Wishes on a different night. They are amazing! I think you are going at a rather slow time of year so you might not have a huge bus wait. We noticed the best resorts for busses after MK was the value resorts. Especially the All Stars. They always have busses coming and there might be a HUGE line, but the wait is always super short. I think there are more busses at the end of the night, so you may wait just as long if you try to get out between Spectro and Wishes than if you just wait until the end of the fireworks. SOmetimes , we just sit on a bench infront of the castle and people watch until the crowds thin. Or we walk thru the stores and browse. I dont think its crazy to break it up into separate nights though. Esp. with a 3 year old. Spectromagic lasts maybe 20-30 minutes tops. Most people will head to Main Street for Wishes. You will hit Main St. traffic for sure, but can get out of there ahead of the rest. Make sure you stand right in front of the castle during Wishes. Its the best spot!!!!

we are going the same week as you!!! We added park hopping to our passes because Spectro was only on Monday! I was sad that we only have 1 night to catch it, oh well. We ae going to try to stay for wishes but will have to see what the kids are up for!
