Specifically, OGA’s…

We stood in line when it opened for several hours. DS loved it and our first trip back (post-pandemic, if one can even use that term? Ok, since Covid, makes more sense) we did not score a reservation and did not try and join a walk-up list while there.

My first question is, has anyone ever seen Oga’s on the dining list for a reservation time? I’ve been checking non-stop, all hours, and have yet to see it listed one time within our earliest possible reservation window. And if you’ve snagged one, can you give me the specs on that? What time did it appear available, etc?

Second question: if we don’t get a reservation, when is the best time to “join the waitlist?” Is there a particularly slow time of day that might be best for getting in?

Thanks in advance! Hoping to surprise DS this next trip, if possible! :)

3am Pacific Standard Time, as in Disneyland Time? I’ll confess, I haven’t been able to stay up for that. I’m now outside the 60 day mark, so I guess I’m out of luck for a dedicated reservation.

Thank you @BadPinkTink, any other thoughts on the “join waitlist” from the community would be greatly appreciated!

Starting to wonder if I’m going to be rope-dropping Oga’s?😳

Yes 3am Disneyland California time :) I was lucky , due to timezones thats 11am for me, but many people here on Disboards have been setting alarms for 2.45am California time, waking up, getting their reservations and then going back to sleep.

I set an alarm to remind me of the 60 days and had it marked on my calendar.

I have 2 reservations for Oga's for my upcoming trip. I got them at 3am PT 60 days in advance. I was online at exactly 3am PT and had no issues.

Gulp, ok…hanging on for another 45 minutes to see if a reservation appears the day we fly home. If it does, I’m gonna kick myself for choosing sleep over Galaxy’s Edge these last several days! What in the world, uh, GALAXY, was I thinking!!😆

aww, hopefully you will get one. People think oh its Disneyland California I don't need to book or plan like for WDW but the dining reservations situation has changed a lot since Disneyland re opened and many book up at 60 days.

You are 100% correct and for anyone else who may be trying to snag such a coveted reservation. 3am PST is the magic moment. Reservations for both lunch and dinner appeared exactly at 3am PST, otherwise known as Disneyland Time, as @BadPinkTink said.

Unfortunately, today’s reservations have passed our trip dates. But I hope it helps another Star Wars nerd (and if you are, you will not take offense at such a label 😜) to watch DJ R3X tearin’ it up.

Again, any news and/or tips on the waitlist would be greatly appreciated!

Officially, I’m rope dropping Oga’s. To be continued…

And just to make time conversion easier, it is 6am Eastern. AKA the same time Disney World ADRs open.

My advice is to keep checking especially as you get closer to your trip. Anytime you have a free minute check! People change and drop reservations all the time. Especially as they approach their 24 hr mark.

My experience is with a Disney World trip in Dec. I had just about given up and I was checking a couple days before our trip while waiting on lunch to heat up. I just kept switching between times on the day I needed and suddenly it was there. I almost went past it by clicking another time to check, because I really wasn’t expecting to see it. I haven’t had a Disneyland trip to try for yet. Hopefully it works similar! Good luck!

Holy macaroni, I am glad I opened this thread! Is this whole “wake up in the middle of the night to get a reservation” plan specific to Oga’s, or is it bigger than that? We’re looking at Goofy’s Kitchen, Trader Sams, Oga’s, Droid Depot, and Savi’s. All are on different days, except for the SWGE reservations, so I would assume Oga’s first and then the other two?

Sorry about your plans, OP. I would have been in the same boat. Disney planning is whole other level…!

We found during two trips last fall, both during busy times, that Oga’s was available on the waitlist intermittently throughout the morning. One day it said full around 10:30, but then opened back up again a half-hour later. Just be prepared to stay close—we had 10 minutes to get there once called.

Trader Sam’s is a definite get at 3 am PST although they don’t seem to load their reservations daily. They seem to be dropping blocks of reservations randomly, so I suggest using Mouse Dining and setting an alert for the days you are looking for!

I can’t speak to the non-dining experiences like Savi… sorry!

Thank you!! I had no idea that was even a thing. I’m all signed up!

Join the waitlist as soon as the park opens and you are close enough to trigger the button that will let you (you have to be pretty close). There is always availability first thing in the morning. Get a spiked coffee drink if you can't fathom a cocktail or beer that early in the morning.

Also, the Disneyland system won't let you add the length of stay to your booking window, even staying on property, had to get up each morning to book the next day's meals (unlike WD). The morning I booked my Blue Bayou I noticed Oga's was still available until 6:07 am EST (checking out of curiosity, already had one for a different day).

We had trouble getting Oga's for our October trip and I set alerts with mouse watcher and mouse dining. As it got close to our trip and during our trip, I got a ton of alerts of reservations popping up for Oga's. We got the days and times we wanted. Also, when we were there we noticed them taking walk ups about every evening at Ogas even though the app showed the walk up list was full. I would suggest walking up and trying any time you are in the area instead of just relying on the app. Good luck!!!!!

Yes, Oga's goes very fast.

Try using a reservation finder like Mouse Dining. Make sure if you use the free version to have your email on push alerts to your phone. :) Good luck!

When we were there the first week of December, I had been completely unsuccessful getting a reservation there. However, one day at lunchtime, we just went up to the host, added our name to the waitlist, and we were in within about 15 minutes. We had to stand at the bar, but that was fine by me at this point!

There is a ******* "Walt's Dining Alerts" that you can join for free that has been helpful to me in getting Trader Sam's, Lamplight and Oga's over the last two days. I stayed awake till 2am the other night and Trader Sams did not drop until after 4am that day :(

I agree with signing up for something like Mouse Dining for alerts. Because it is so hard to get reservations people will book multiple reservations while they are planning and then cancel later. You still have to have really good timing to make it in time after an alert.
