Specific room number to request at HOJOs?

Hi,

I just booked a premium view room (so bldg 1) for our trip in December, requested a skylight room as we love to wake up to the sun rising.

Now I am reading that we *might* hear freeway noise from these rooms. :sad2:

Can anyone who has stayed in this particular configuration tell me what would be a good room number to request so that we don't hear freeway noise?

Thanks for any help!

Great question - we have also booked the same room type.

Just tagging on to your thread, I would be keen to know what the room numbers are for the 10 rooms that face Disneyland in Building 1?

building 1 facing the freeway you can hear it but I read if facing disney side you can hear as much.

We just stayed building 2 on 2nd floor I liked it in march we stayed building 6 I like it also.

I have stayed in building one, skylight room, maybe 4 rooms from the elevator, with park view. We loved the room. No noise at all, with the doors closed. But out on patio, you hear the freeway. No way around it, it is just close by. It did not bother us at all.

Also stayed in building two, room backed to freeway. It was incredibly loud, but with door closed, again, not noticeable.

In building 4, over looking pirate's cove, I could not hear the freeway, but the water sound was loud, as were the squeals of the children. (with the door open)

I have stayed in the skylight rooms as well. As long as you have the disney view and your balcony door is shut you won't have a problem with noise. We love the disney view rooms. Rooms closer to the elevator will give you the least amount of noise on the balcony, but not quite as good of a view of the water play area.

Thanks to all who replied! glara, you are welcome to tag along!

Sounds like closer to the elevator is the place to be and keep the balcony door closed.

One more question: is the elevator quiet? We have been in hotel rooms before right next to the elevator, and it is usually very noisy.

Reading this over, we sound like we are so picky - honestly, we aren't. It's just my DH loves to stay on site, but it has become so expensive, even with the AP, that I am trying to branch out. We stayed at CCI our last trip and really liked it, so now want to try HOJOs. I just want to cover all our bases and not give him an excuse to complain. ;)

Thanks again.

From my understanding and experience:

In building #1 you should ask for a room that's closer to the southwest corner of the building. I believe the skylight rooms that are closer to the southwest corner would be room number 1701, 1703, etc.

The rooms that are closer to the northwest corner tend to have more freeway sound.

FWIW, here's a wikimap link:

HTH :earsboy:

The elevator is on the opposite side of the hall from the view rooms, and we never heard it. We were across from it and down about 3 doors or so.

I know what you mean about wanting to make it as good as it can be.

We have also stayed at the CCI. It was so small in our room that that really effected our enjoyment. We did premium and had breakfast delivered each day, which was nice, but expensive. We love to stay on site, but also sometimes find it necessary to compromise and get the better pricing, and for us, HOJO is awesome. The rooms are huge, and the grounds are beautiful, and honestly, we have always had the best customer service with an little issue. The garden pool is also quite delightful, and when I consider any other off site location, the overall package seems to come up short.

I just cancelled BWPPI, which I was considering because I couldn't get the suite at HOJO, but it felt like a huge compromise, and I am so glad we are able to get into the kids suite for just $80 more than we were paying at BWPPI.

Wow, thanks SS Columbia and QueenDoOver - that is exactly the information I need.

I know it is going to be great and you can't beat the AP discount price!
