This is a really specific question, but I'm hoping some people that have either done this or go frequently can give me some advice.

I'm grateful to have some LLMP and LLSP time slots for rides.... but, since HS was our first park, my availability was limited and so I just grabbed what I could. Of course, I am going to continue to try to move these up until the morning of. But in case I don't grab changes, how do I work this?

LLMP/LLSP currently:
Rope Drop Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway - hoping 8:30 or 9 am by the time we get off that ride.
10:20-11:20 - Rise of Resistance
10:35-11:35 - Tower of Terror (and after I tap here, I can try to get another ride. Great if I do, but if not, that's OK too. Hoping for Rock n Roller Coaster)
11:35-12:35 - Toy Story Mania
12:55 - Lunch at Sci Fi

It all works... BUT... the walking!!! Literally criss crossing 3 times. I'm trying to avoid the walk from entrance to Railway to Rise to Tower back to Toy Story!

What do you think my chances are of doing it this way:
10:30 (5 min early) - tap into Tower
11:00 - finish Tower, walk to Rise. Hope I make it there by 11:20, or 11:25-11:35 if the cast members allow a grace period). Then, Rise is a nice long ride!
11:45 (?) - finish Rise, easy walk to Toy Story Mania... maybe even spend some time in Galaxy's Edge or Toy Story area.
12:30 - Toy Story Mania
12:55 - Lunch at Sci Fi

What do you think???

Just back, even during a very slow time of year, I had almost no ability to change my prebooked passes. They are what they are, unless you want even later times.

We were allowed a little grace period, but some CM's questioned us about being late. It seems to me with the 2VQ's they have to allow a little flexibility, especially in MK. the wait for Tiana's can be very long, and if you let a pass expire, you can't rebook that attraction even if it is something like the teacups that is always available. In many cases, you kinda get what you get for return times.

Truly, when we got over to Universal and had Express Pass, it was SO much more relaxing! WDW's passes are sadly a mess right now. On our Epcot day, we gave up booking passes and just waited in the 5-10min standby waits instead, which was most of Epcot. It was easier than dealing with the passes, and we are well versed in booking LLMP/FP+/G+/FP-.

Keep checking daily. It is very, very possible to move LLs up, we have had zero issues doing it to the point we booked every single multipass LL for HS the day of when we hopped into it from MK, including Slinky Dog (we purchased Rise ahead of time). You will see little movement in times until you arrive so I would limit checking to once a day before your trip, preferably in the morning. But absolutely check at 7am the day of your HS visit because Disney tends to release a lot of inventory the day of.

That said, modify that Tower LL into literally anything else that's available at or near park opening. Even if it's something stupid like Star Tours. Here's why: you fully unlock the system and free yourself of the tier restrictions as soon as you tap into your first ride. You want to do that ASAP to give yourself the widest range of available inventory to start booking your next rides.

What you should do is rope drop Tower instead, because that will ultimately save more time and steps than going to MMRR first. Unless it's a crazy busy day, MMRR wait times do not build substantially until around 10:30-11am IME. That's around when the offsite and stragglers start coming in and they hit it because the Chinese Theater is the first thing they see when they walk into the park. During EE and prime rope drop hours, Everyone in the back of pack is still stupidly running to Slinky Dog and Rise even though not being front of pack means they are just walking into 60+ min lines. Work your way back to MMRR from Sunset Blvd and barring technical issues at Tower or RNRC, you should be able to walk on to both of them and still have a minimal wait at MMRR. This has been my rope drop strategy at HS for years now and it's been very, very successful.

Ideally your first prebooked LL will be at MMRR, because it should be official park open by the time you get there, but if you can't get it, Star Tours is on your way to Galaxy's Edge from there and even if you're tapping in over there 15-20 min after park open you will be in a much better position than waiting to tap in for another hour. Once you tap in then grab anything else you can and start modifying. The biggest thing with this system is not to give up on getting the top Tier 1s. I have pulled Slinky Dog day of, like I said. Disney sprinkles more LLs throughout the day. But you need to be tapping in as early as humanly possible in order to set yourself up for success.

You won’t have a problem. There’s an unannounced 2 hour grace period, it’s not 15 minutes anymore.

I think your plan to tap into ToT early is the way to go and you should be fine to get the rest of your plan done. You may be a bit late for your Rise LL but within the 15 min grace period.

I’m hesitant to announce this as it has not been the experience of many other guests. Do you have supporting evidence/multiple experiences to support this?

My personal experience over a 13 night trip from Christmas through New Years. We were late for fast passes a lot due to kids oversleeping, etc. It’s also been reported on by reputable bloggers like All Ears.

Something is missing here, your RoR will be a LLSP so you are missing your third LLMP, unless it is MMRR - then you don’t need to rope drop it?
Can you get a 3rd one that is really early (eg start tours) then you would definitely be able to get RnRC.
MMRR always seems to have a long line at rope drop, while RnRC is much much quicker (even rideable twice).
We also found it easy to pick up an MMRR LL at a reasonable time.

To your specific question, your plan will be fine, the walk to RoR is doable within your timeframes. We were doing things similar to what you propose to avoid walking all over, not doing the LLs in order.

I'm sorry, I did not add my 3rd LLMP to this post since it was after lunch and didn't after my early plans. We have Slinky at 2:30 pm.

Thank you for the confirmation about the plans to avoid some walking! I'm hoping even if we err a few minutes here or there, the staff may be understanding. We'll see!

Thank you for these details. I have read and understand booking that "early" burner ride to unlock more options. I am using that strategy in the other parks during our visit. I will check morning of, but not constantly, as you've advised. Like others have said here, I haven't see much movement in time availability yet, so maybe I'll try morning of.

We also had trouble moving our times during a slow time of year. There may be some added availability three days out (usually just before 7) and, as you already mentioned, morning of.
